there have been so many damn threads on guitarists, so what do you think? who is the best drummer of all time?

(travis barker does not count)

Travis Barker doesn't count? He is a very good drummer, I hope you're not suggesting he isn't. His talent is completely wasted ina Band like Blink 182.

 
As much as it pains me to say it, Travis Barker is actually a sick drummer. You wouldn't really know it from Blink 182, but he's a solid drummer. Not saying he's the best, but he's legit.

DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT!!! I just got through a 2 hour argument with some tool that Travis Barker is NOT, I repeat NOT the best drummer ever. He is very sick, very tight at playing, and very rudimentary. He doesn't suck, but NOBODY say that he is the best.

I am not even a drummer, but here are a few of the best that I know of. Carter Beuford, Dave Weckls, Buddy Rich, Neil Peart, Danny Carry.

Basically, any jazz-fusion drummer smokes Travis Barker's ass sideways.

travis barkers solos are terrible. i've already learned it and it's a lot easier compared to anyone else's drum solos that i've tried to learn. neil peart is siiiiick and buddy rich is the greatest drummer to ever graze the earth. but travis barker, it's really a shame, assuming he is as good as you all say, that he's wasting it with blink 182. i just am not impressed with his drum solos at all. i have a bunch of solos on my comp and that was the first one i got down. he doesn't have any good fills in the songs and his songs are easy to learn for that matter as well.

FURTHERMORE! he should take his skills somewhere else.....like jazz drumming or latin. where he can do whatever he wants with fills and whatnot.

keith moon and john bonham are pretty damn good

Travis is no where close to the likes of Neil Peart (Rush), Dany Karry(Tool), or Mike Pourtnouy (Dream Theater). If you think Travis is good, then go listen to these guys.

 
ginger baker is another sick one. mike portnoy is amazing but, the best drum solo ever goes to john bonham. i have it on my computer and it's like 20 minutes. i heard his hands bled really bad afterwords because he played with his hands.

^^ John Bonham, nothing crazy??? You apparently haven't seen the Led Zep live DVD (the 2003 one). He did drum solos on Moby Dick lasting up to half an hour, without people getting bored. Now that's amazing. Keith Moon was also amazing, I'd say it's a tie between them. Sadly, they were both raging alcoholics and really fat at the end of their lives, but they're still my heroes.

You are ignorant as fuck. There is a hell of a lot more to being a good drummer than just playing complex shit. And yes, buddy rich, neil peart,gene krupa, danny carey, all amazing drummers.

buddy rich wrote all his own shit. dave weckl writes all his own shit. that's why i respect them. travis barker plays shit that someone wrote for him or was already written. no fills in any of his songs, barely any use of toms. just bass, cymbals and snare. at the concert i kept waiting for him to do some cool fill or anything exciting. he sounded worse than tom's annoying voice trying to be a comedian

Yeah, where did you get that from? He didn't write the new album? Sorry if he plays stuff from their old shit the same as their old drummer to make it the same song, of course he should have changed it all, geez what the hell was he thinking.

im gunna have to go with the status quo on this and say that travis is a remarkable drummer and that his talent is very much wasted in blink 182.
