I'm looking to get a decent digital camera, just a sick point and shoot. I don't think i'd want to deal with and carry around an slr, nor will i be needing to take pictures requiring one. Anyone got some suggestions?
i'm partial to Sony point and shoots. i have a P200 and love it. it has given me some really amazing shots (excellent color and sharpness, very realistic and similar to SLR photos). definitely check some out. here's a site with reviews on basically every sony (and other brand cameras) http://www.imaging-resource.com/MFR1.HTM?view=Sony_reviews
canon g9 is pretty sick. 12mp with a hot shoe so you can put flashes on it plus you can shot in manual aperture priority shutter priority. so its basically an slr that you can put in your pocket
I have an older powershot as well...an S3 IS. I like it. It's a fun camera, takes some excellent shots. I spent around $600 on it though, and in hindsight, I should have just sucked it up and gotten an SLR.
g9 is amazing. i use a rebel, but i occasionally will take my dads g9 out and play around. Its by no means an SLR camera, but it takes amazing pictures.
