Best crash stories

a couple years ago i wiped out and clicked back into my shitty bindings. apparently i wasnt in all the way or there was snow under my boots. go i go off the next jump and both of my skis just fell off in the air. terrifying.

So TODAY, second run at opening day at Park City, they had a couple little butter boxes set up, and so I just was messin around, did a little 270 on and my skis STUCK to the box, like I donno if it was my edges catching or what, but this has never happened like this to me before. So then I fly off the box sideways and land directly on my shoulder on the rock hard landing, and so it took me a second to get up which was weird. I got on the lift for another run and my shoulder was killin me, (and I re-broke a thumb) so I tried to ski and I like couldn't even move it and it just killed. So I went to the little clinic thing and they wanted to x-ray me and all the rest. Turns out I have a partially torn rotator cuff, and bone bruising inside my shoulder, and a re-broken thumb. ALL FROM SCREWIN AROUND ON A BUTTER BOX. I still can't believe that I'm so messed up from such a STUPID fall. I'm still super pissed about this right now, and my shoulder kills as I type this. Moral of the story, skip the stupid 5 foot long 3 foot wide butter boxes cause they are out to getcha.

Had to reply to this since something similar happened to me last year.

Whistler park, first feature a little teeny tiny butter box. Butter on to it, catch an edge at an awkward angle so when I fell it was the corner of the box to the shoulder / hip. Normally it would've been something you just stand up from and carry on down, but the way I fell really messed up my left arm and leg so I ended up carefully skiing out and hobbling around the cabin for a day to recover.

Butter boxes are trouble. They're scheming to get you.

another one - anybody been to sunshine?? well last year they had that f-d-f box set up, this year its in the temp park, but anyways the flat sections are only really small, maybe a foot long each. i catch my tips on the down bit, eject and am soaring through the air belly down feet first and land on the bottom flat bit square on my nad sack. ended my day and rest of week. not kidding i couldnt barely walk.
