Mine was last year when me and my friend were skiing. i was cruising down this crazy line right under the chair cus it had snowed about two feet the night before, great freshies. Thats when i saw it, the perfect set up, it was kinda a lip from and snowed over tree straight into another tree to tap you hit what ever. well i went for it, hit it with my tails and that when i figured out it was a much bigger tree then i thought and it released my skis leaving me falling 8-10 feet with no skis. it was fun times tho.

now tell me yours. top 3 best stories = +k.

Did a 3, landed a little backseat, slammed my wrist on the icy landing, broke it. I didnt even fall.

First tracks, 3 ft. pow, down a chute that went across a cat track i didnt know about, double ejection and lost poles, and roughly 5 and a half fronflips

its tough to justify the story with it being typed like this but.. i was skiing blue mountain early season last year. it was the second weekend open and it was dumping. prolly got 2 feet in that day of skiing. anyways i was ripping under the chair (the six person beside badlands) and there are a couple of small 4ft retaining walls that you can drop off before you cut to the left and hit the big 8ft retaining wall. anyways i was skiing pretty hard off of the mini retaining walls when i land a little back of the second last one. i get bucked forward and fly off of the last mini cliff superman style. since the snow was so good i flipped forward and landed on my back totally fine and skied away to hit the last, large retaining wall. i guess its not the best story but that was my first day on snow last year and it was a fucking sick day. it was under the lift too so the hoots and howls from everyone just gets me going even more. such good snow. the bail didn't even hurt just got me more jacked up to continue to rip it. thinking about that day gets my heart pumping. hope there are many more days like that this year. all the best this season guys

there was really shit kicker at my home mountain with a really narrow landing. tried a hand drag 3 and carved the on the take off way too much. went to far to the right and missed and missed the whole landing. when i landed a tore my MCL which was really shit.

messin around, jumped off of the side of the trail into thw woods with ALOT too much speed. hit a tree, very very hard.

i was hitting the booter at my home mountain it was a really slow day so i hadnt gotten nearly enough speed for the jump. I went for it anyways came up at least 10 feet short face-planted and slid all the way down the landing.

Mine was kinda stupid I see this nice jump n i didn't want to speed check it so i go off it n do a front flip normally id be fine but a fucking gaper is standing right on the landing of the jump i land n the second i land i dont even have time to turn i just crash into him in between my legs i was like ouff n then i tipped over n just held my balls cause they were frickin hurting ya finally the gaper was fine just a bit knocked up n my balls got better after like 30 min ish.

I hate that so bad! Cat tracks and traverse lines make for the most painfull and suprising crashes (mostly traverse lines tho).

cut off trail with some mates for freshies on an overcast day, then were traversing back to the lift and shredding prity hard, i saw a little knoll with some tracks over it, i i thort ''wel hit that'' so i flew off this ridge expecting to land on a slope, and turns out i couldnt see that it was basically a natural quater pipe/half pipe that was quite steep and i landed on the up side of the other quater. due to the weather, my friends couldn't tell it was so steep either, and followed me and almost landed right on top of me. Hurt prity bad but was crack up.

i attempted a front flip off of a small roll at the end of a gs course during a regional race in high school because i fell earlier in the run. didn't have enough air and crashed in front of everyone, but it was great.

another front flip story from high school. i did one of a really small table jump but landed leaning too far forward, ejected from one ski, did a somersault and planted my tailbone on the back binding which snapped the ski and my tailbone. i never told my parents because they hated flips and never went to the doctor. my tailbone hurt for over a year.

I have Four one was in spring and it was still in the morning hours of the day and the park was closed so me and my friends were doing the groomers and we were going hella fast and at the end of the run my friend slowed done but i didnt and i hit a ditch going a cross the run and i double ejected a went flying across the area where the chair is spinning and fliping and i sprained my ankle.

My other is i droped my glove going up the chair so when i was going to get it i was rocking the bumps under the chair and every one was hootin for me then i got my edge did a licholn double ejected thing and stated sliding down the hill.Note i got flung into the trees where its icey. I was going pretty fast and was hending for this tree and i stuck out my boot so I wouldnt get sacked and i got crumpled into the tree. I managed to get my skis and ski down while the ski potrol was looking for my. At the chair i asked for first aid and they told me i almost broke my leg

My other is when i was younger and went so fast into the half pipe flew like 10 feet up into the air and i hit the lip coming down and did a side flip into the middle of the half pipe and landed flat on my side and I bruised a couple of ribs and mite of cracked some.

Hahaha my last one isnt bad its just funny last weekend me and my friends mad a BC booter that was way to lippy so when i hit it i double ejected and did a front flip off the jump with no skis

There was this bush knoll thing under the lift that everyone hits, and it's super fun because you can go pretty big or small. The first time I hit it one day, stomped it clean, and somehow managed to land in a telemark stance without meaning to. So the next time I hit it, for some reason, I tried to do it on purpose. Instead of landing it clean, the tip of my ski dug into the snow before the bases ever even touched the snow, and i went summersaulting all the way down the rest of the hill. And seeing as how my skis don't eject, I repeatedly got hit with them. It was beautiful.

Attempting 1080 in night ski show on 205 straight slaloms. Cranked out of my right ski off the jump. It almost decapitated the guy spotting. Made the full rotation, landed one ski, one boot and slammed. This was 92ish so we weren't wearing helmets. Knocked out for a few seconds, got up, tried to grab my shit that was all over the hill. Couldn't get my ski back on so I started skiing down to the bottom of the hill (about 100 feet) on one ski carrying the other. The guy running the spot light, turned it off and I was completely blind. At the bottom they had a viewing area with one of those big tents and a control fence wrapped around it. I'm cruising along, still pretty dazed from the fall, but thinking that I'm aiming for the open flat area. Actually I had drifted off to the right. I looked up, saw the control fence and remember seeing this Asian woman standing right against the fence watching. Her eyes got huge as she realized that I was going to hit the fence right in front of her, but she didn't have time to move. I hit the fence and knocker her back through the wall of the tent. Surprisingly, no one was injured including me. I'm pretty sure I didn't get a concussion even though I got KO'd.

2 years ago. park city had built a pretty sizeable step-up. type of jump that you had to go as fast as you possibly could to clear. first day no problem. next day a little bit warmer. first hit of the day came up short. collapsed both arches in my feet. end of season

today in my basement i was really wanting to ski, so i dressed up in my shit and then i tried doing some flexies and butter 180's then i ejected outta one of my boots and ate tile.

When I was in Colorado (I live in NJ) at A Basin I think, I saw a giant mound of snow and wanted to ski over it. So I was going at it pretty fast since it was a pretty steep slope going up. I get to the beginning of the mound and instead of going over it, I just go straight into, like in cartoons when you see people run through something and leave a person shaped hole, only I didn't come out the other side.

And another one from NJ, when I was like 12 and was just skiing on a gradual slope, no biggie. All of the sudden, the ground underneath me collapses and I fall into a ditch and couldn't get out. So I was stuck there for a few minutes until some old people helped me out, they probably just saw a ski pole sticking out of the ground haha.

i had a pretty lucky crash today at snowbird. it was the very first run of the year down a groomer and i started off straightlining switch down this, it was my first day on my new live life 2s and i wasnt quite used to them and i started to get squirelly and then my edge caught and i slid instantly onto my back and off the groomer. somehow i managed to get my feet in front of me and if i hadnt i would have rolled into a completely uncovered rock patch into a 10 foot drop into more rocks, super lucky crash could have been much worse.

there are so many but the most painful was probably when i tried a switch one over a ten foot t shaped barrel jib. i spun the switch one too fast and hit my tips right on the front of the jib. i then fell ten feet head first to an icy landing and cut up my face. it sucked ass

lol nice

couple years ago it was super windy and visibility was pretty much 0 and I was rippin along a trial (on the right is a cliff) and this dude cut me off/sprayed snow so i couldn't see and flew off the cliff, double ejected on the landing and somehow managed to be sliding on my back head first for a while till I could finally stop. No injuries but it was a bitch hiking up and getting all my shit

tryin to switch 5, and then.. i don't even know. I just woke up inside like 2 hours later with everyone around me, no clue what was going on, wanting to keep skiing but they made me go home. It was the best thing ever cuz i never felt any pain from it, not even a headache when i woke up. Totally the way to go if your gonna go down hard.

vacation in Jackson hole, decided to try a 7 ft cliff even though there wasn't any pow. stomped it, hit a mogul, lost one ski, and stomped the frontflip. It was hilarious

I was railing a skier X berm and my friend (knuckledragger) went low high and cut me off one of my skis went in between his feet. we both shot off the top of the berm and through the first fence i double ejected and stopped he was stopped by the 2nd fence. neither of us got hurt.

doing a 3 on a big jump and totally over rotated and ate shit...it was in the spring and the snow was nice so it didnt really hurt

so back whe i was 11. i went to my local hill with a couple friends and we were pretty hyped up on sugar and shit so we decided to have a long jump comp on a 10 foot table. a kid 2 years younger than me went first and just barely landed on the landing and i wasnt just about to let him beat me so i tucked the whole way from the top of the terrain park and right about when i hit the lip of the jump i had that "oh shit" feeling. i got about twice the amount of air i was expecting and lander 20 feet from the landing. on impact i compressed so hard that m knee hit my cheek and it split open (not too bad though) but i still landed it and i won. i was pretty stoked afterwards, and got some props from the prople on the chairlift. :) good times. just thought id share.

I caught an edge at the end of a flatbox and fell onto my back but when i stood up my pants fell to my ankles because my belt broke.

I organized a photo shoot with a few Smith grassroots team riders and some of the Fortitude crew back in January... We show up all stoked because the park setup at keystone looked amazing and the weather was perfect. But then the park was closed because a few of the big boys are shooting... Andreas, Jon, TJ, etc. At like 11 they let us into the park and I start trying to make up for lost time. Two runs later I already have two shots that Kinsey is pretty happy with. So I drop in straight air jump 1, put down a flat 5 bow and arrow grab on jump 2 and then as I am taking off of jump 3 setting switch misty 7 i caught my tips on the lip of the jump. As soon as I took off I knew I was fucked!

Dead fish, I roll to about 630 and knuckled on my chest and boom... I am knocked the hell out. When I woke up a few minuets later i didn't know where I was or how I had gotten there. As I started to piece things together I was staying pretty clam at first until I saw Jon Olsson holding one of my arms down. (I broke some bones in both hands and ski patrol couldn't get me to stop figiting) Anyway that brought me to the realization that I have been in a ski accident and I freaked out. I am yelling incoherntly and unknowingly embarassing the shit out of myself. A few x-rays, a 100 mile Ambulance ride and a cat scan later I am released from the hospital but confined to the couch for a few weeks... so yeah. I wouldnt call it a happy story, but it is worth a listen.

PS here is a photo of the flat 5 I did on jump 2 just before I rocked my shit.

PLEASE READ THIS BECAUSE ITS BETTER AND IM NOT JUST SAYING THAT

yeah so last season, bottom of hayfever (for you pano goers) and thers this righteous side booter that i hit, i look uphll for 2 secs well still hauling ass down this sketchy ass cat track to watch this other kid hit it, and there was some 2 foot high big ass chunk of ice, unmarked, completely invisible. i double ejected and supermanned at least 20 feet no joke into some bushes. sprained my wrist on my pole. this is an hour after i was in the patrol shack with my uncle who collarbone and ribs got broke. so we sat there all day and chilled. pretty pimp ass story eh?

We deiced to hit a tiny urban rail in our town, waxed it a lot and built a crappy jump. I wasn't prepared at all, decided to hit it even though i have no skills on rails. When i hit the rail I fell backwards, slammed my knee into the rail and my knee opened on impact. Went to the hospital, had a lot of stitches and lost all late season.

pic of my knee:

those traverse lines really sneak up on you....

this isnt my story, but i was their and he is one of my best friends. it was a blue bird day and my friend and i were just messing around. we got to the bottom took the chair lift up and at the top he thought it would be funny to see if he could ride on his tips off the chair. he miss calculated a bit and ended up catching both tips on the red line at the beggining of the unloading platform. best face plant ive ever seen. the lifty almost didnt stop the lift he was laughing so hard. t'was a good day.

those surprised the shit out of me once too much the first time i went skiing in Utah; zero visibility on a track id never been on and me, my dad and my bro all slammed into the same cat track.

it was the first run of the day and in the woods was a good amount of snow (considering im in the east) so i go in and i have a good amount of speed when my ski got caught under a root and i flew forward and was upside down under the roof of a fallen down tree. i was there for a god 5-10 minutes callling for help when someone finally came through and helped me out.

I was going down my local hill (Perfect North) and I stop to fix my gloves and I see my friends on the lift and they're all yelling for me to go. I start going, and the moment I start moving my brother goes "WATCH OUT FOR THE TREE!!!!" I'm like, "WHAT?!" And look away, I go 15 mph into a tree. Whole lift was laughing. Didn't hurt as bad I thought it would have. Skied away just fine.

this isnt as good as some of the other stories but i was skiing a groomer and caught the tip of my ski in some icy snow, then i did a face drag into a frontflip, but i landed in some pow so it was fun.

i didnt even fall when i did this but heres mine:

i was out at vail this season and spotted a small cliff from the chairlift. i came speeding into it and completly overshot the landing onto flat. i landed way backseat and my DIN was probly 2 or 3 higher than it was supposed to me. didnt hurt much until i took my boot off. turns out i had a greenstick fracture on my shin.

epic shinbang.

READ MINE :)

Mobbing down a run with a bunch of people, come over a knoll, one of the people we were riding with was deciding to slide down on her stomach. My skis lift off the ground over the knoll, i have no control. she sits up, i hit her, hoping my skis dont slice through her stomach. i double ejcet, flip several times. she is crying and stuff. im dizzy and confused. ski patrol takes her down in a sled, i ski down. she hurt her finger, and bruised a rib. my knee didnt have severe damage but i couldnt walk the next few days. hurt so bad. and i still skied down.

here's mine :

At my home mountain, we had a spine with a log on the top... I was going a little bit too fast, tried to do an 180 nosetap on the log but I overshooted the spine and landed on the flat...

results : broken wrist and 2 months without skiing. oh and the ironic part with this is that happened on the last day of my christmas school break.

i was skiing some trail (thankfully not very fast or I would have gotten absolutely decimated), snowing extremely hard, couldn't see too well, didn't quite know what happened but before i know it, I crash into the middle of one of those harness/leash type things that u sometimes see ski instructors put on real little kids when they're first learning to ski... it was about 10 feet long and I managed to hit right in the middle part, the poor kid was bowled right off their feet, the injuries themselves were not very gruesome but i got some hefty ropeburn from that leash despite my jacket

also, not me, but my 7th grade math teacher told us this story from when he skipped a couple days of college to go skiing after these colossal snowstorms... He and his brother and his friend built a little jump on a trail and went bombing down the run to hit it; they not-so-conveniently built it on a curve, so he came in a little too hard and flew off the trail, wiping out and falling on his back. he started to slide down the slope on the side of the trail, his head hit a bump and got bucked forwards, and a protruding stick from a fallen tree above him stabbed probably a good inch into his inside tear duct right next to his eye, shattering his cheekbone and fucking up his eye... he now has a glass eye and a titanium plate in his cheek. ouch.
