So I just graduated from High School and I've had this jeep cherokee throughout the past years and my parents said there done paying for my gas n shit so I need some suggestions for good small cars that save on gas kind of like the old 99 saturn SL models.
So what are the best cheap gas saving cars out there?

the volvo s80s and s70s are pretty good on gas, and your lucky im in HS and have to pay for my own gas

Dude....You can probably buy those cars used for pretty cheap. I have a 95 corolla and it runs great, fun to drive and gets amazing gas mileage. Look into something like that.

Save yourself the shame and just get a normal subaru, you can get an older model for 5000 or less and it will get 25-30mpg depending on how you drive.

save the jeep and buy a moped, thats what i did and it works out fine. some people may call you gay but its an extra $40 in my pocket a week and i still can go anywhere in my jeep plus cruise around on my moped wherever i need to go.

Geo Metro, any Honda civic as long as it isn't riced, Toyota saloons do well. Avoid American made. Subaru outbacks do well. Just not the impreza line.

Do what the guy a few posts up said. Buy a Honda Ruckus and cruise around on that, pay very little in gas, and keep the Jeep.

I was going to yell at you for taking Sierra Steeze's icon, but then I checked your profile. Almost made myself look like an ass. Not sure why I decided to share though.

I'm Ron Burgandy?

This badass gets over eight thousand miles to the gallon. But actually a Honda civic from the late 90's will cost under 3000 dollars and get at least 30-35 mpg

i would highly recommend a stick shift toyota corolla (if you can drive stick). mechanically they last for a very very long time with very few problems and they get fantastic gas mileage. i drive one and it's not crazy to approach 40 mpg if you drive smart.

veggie isnt that practical for a skier though, it gels quicker than diesel does and needs a complicated tank heating system / mix with raw diesel and sometimes just straight diesel is required

theres a kid in my school that converted his civic to run on like 6 car batteries alone and nothing else

Used car values are at an all time high, sell the jeep and buy a brand new little fuel sipper, the cheapest ford or Hyundai. With chains a 2wd car will still get you to the ski area parking lot.

my threads, I wanna get a subaru outback and was wondering if I should try to get a manual or auto and what year to get better gas mileage?

no. theres a smart car in the bed of a pickup at a dealership near me with a big sign saying how it gets worse gas mileage than some chevy (malibu?) and costs less and has less room. and that chevy gets like 40mph or something. also since its not a hybrid getting a higher mileage for city makes no sense at all.

A bike is your best bet. Hybrid commuter, something like that. 21 speeds, 26 inch tires, disc brakes.Every ounce of gasoline you burn, you are directly contributing to America's imminent demise.

keep the jeep and get a streetbike for summer, because when it comes to winter, you are gonna want a dependable 4wd car to get ya to the mountain! and no car 3000 or less getting 30 or more mpg is gonna have 4x4 and be dependable

ya hear what im sayin?

god damn it you just sent me on a hour long youtube tour ending with this. How I got here I don't know...
