You could also go onto EBay if u feel confident. But basically, you should get an amp or sub before a new reciever, unless it's complete shit. That's a last part of the project. I recomend an amp instead.
i have a sony explode cd player thast a year old that i never used, i payed 140 for it, but ill sell it to u for 90, its silver with blue backlights and red backlights, and it had sub out puts an stuff, its cool message me if u want more info.....
check out the Pioneer DEH-1700. it can play cds + cd-r. has mad presets. and puts out 45w x 4 all for like $80.00 at any decent store or online. My buddy ripped one out of some pricks car and gave it to me which im not saying is right, but i put it in my car and it sounds sick.
amps are pretty damn simple to wire man, unless your deck/reciever has no RCA inputs, then tapping into the speaker-level inputs from your stock amp is quite a bitch. that is, if you're adding another amp. replacing an amp is easy
sony's explode serious was the worst equipment known to man. that stuff is absolute crap. i was looking to buy that but stuck with my Alpine units and im so glad i didnt get into sony's crappy car stereo
That's why you get one of those tape input things. Those are better than CDs cause you just hook up your IPod or whatever and yur set. And Amps arn't too hard to wire, just set a half of a day aside and you got a loud car.
