slays cayenne turbos and supercharged rovers

4runners are where its at man. thats what i have. they are sickas fuck. mine is sick, i have 32 mud boggin tires on there lift, and the tires do great in snow too and there is plenty of room for all your shit and friends.. cant go wrong with a 4runner

i would say a Subaru outback or WRX hatchback. I had a '91 Toyota Corolla wagon, and it kicked ass. It was really good on gas, had 4 Wheel drive, handled ok, and I could throw all my skiing shit in the back. They are hard to find in non rusty shape though....oh and did i mention it had 550 000 km at the end of its life?

my car is fwd so it'll be good for almost any days. if not my dads silverado, 6" lift with beast tires should do the trick...

DONT get a new subaru. Subaru doesnt make the outback edition anymore, and those cars were the best for winter driving. The new ones suck in the snow, because they are much lower and more sporty. I had a 2001 subaru legacy outback, and then i got 2006 legacy. The 06 was terrible in the winter, so i got my 01 outback back and loved it.

i could care less if it gets bad mileage, i think it makes it cooler cause it pisses uptight people off. i just dont like it cause ive never seen anyone other than complete tools driving those. they cant offroad, they cant handle, all they can do is acclerate and look bad so i just dont see the point, atleast cayenne's can offroad better than pretty much anything while being able to outhandle half the sports cars out there.

Have you ever drove an Outback? I doubt it, because im not the only one who feels this way. I was at the dealership three weeks ago, and 3 salesman and 6 mechanics and i all got in a discussion because of how shitty the newer cars are in snow. I found out they dont make the outback anymore because people from the south didnt like them, and wanted a more sporty car. Well I passed 8th grade geography, and DC and further south dont get much to any snow. Whats the point of a awd car? Subarus are needed in the northeast and northern states, so i dont see why those fucking rednecks opinions matter.

You must have mis read my first post then, i had an 06 that wasnt an outback. Hell maybe it was an 07, i dont know, its now my brothers car. But what i was saying, the newer cars that arent outback models are shit compared to older body style outbacks.

I know this, but the thread asks what car for snow? People automatically say Subie. But, maybe the thread creator doesnt know that subies arent what they used to be since they dumped the outback. I was just letting the kid know that they arent outbacks anymore, and if i were to get a subaru for snow, id get a used one.

Jeeps definitely rock. I have a 1999 Grand Cherokee and the all time 4wd is great.

Subarus are sweet though, and with a ski rack look awesome.

the jeep has a 0.84g skid pad and can do the slalom at 61 mph.

jeep looks bad ? cayenne looks bad.

cayenne is meant for men who can buy a porsche carerra and up, but their wives tell them to buy a cayenne for the 'family'. talk about creating an suv for a market of men with no back bone to stand up to their wives.

how about you unzip your pussy, and let your dick fall out

Seriously, its a girl's truck. Same thing as a honda ridgeline. Girlly girl truck.

i agree with you on some of that........but ANY "street performance" SUV is total shit/garbage/period blood.

Anybody who drives a BMW X5, Cayanne GTS, or Jeep SRT is a HUGE HUGE HUGE fucking tool. So huge . What is the point of a SUV if you can't drive it in 3 feet of snow, or make it through a mud hole, or rip some very basic rocks.

My TJ will kick the SHIT out of any vehicle on here in snow. Ive got it stuck in 3 feet plus ( like can't even open the door snow). Just turn on the lockers, put it in 4 low and idle my way out. Throw a rack on there and your set ( sort of the same thing for the Cherokee......but unibody sucks).

dont know much about the cayenne gts, but atleast the normal cayenne can offroad as well as anything else, watch some videos they are past amazing. if i was rich and wanted an all around fun car id take a cayenne, it will get track times up there with most sports cars, and still be able to offroad better than any stock jeep, range rover, etc...
and yeah your jeep may be able to go through the deep stuff, but how often does that happen? usually your not driving through anything past a foot, and in that case, thats when id want something like a subaru or audi that can rip through the snow fast. but i will admit having a good suv can be fun as hell, a couple witers ago we got about 4 feet of snow in 2 days and the city couldnt plow the streets fast enough, i had my s4, which has like no ground clearance, and suprisingly i made it like 20 miles through about 3 feet of snow back to my house, i had to get towed out once by my friend cause i hit a median (couldnt tell where the road even was, it was all flat snow) but that night basically nobody could get anywhere, and i mean nobody, we had my friends badass lifted landcruiser with big ass swampers, and we were driving all around town, down the main streets and stuff and we didnt see a single person for hours, where on a normal day it would be bumper to bumper trafic. and it was like this for more than 2 days. we probably could have robbed like every store in town and not had a chance of getting caught, but we arent that gangster. so yeah we did so much fun ass stuff in the snow it was amazing. but yeah that was probably the funnest couple days of my life by far, and mostly because we had a badass suv.

1)snow machine = snowmobile

2)he wants a truck to haul his snowmachine

3) 6cyl 4.0 ranger has four wheel drive

4) those trucks last pretty good for Fords

5) I recommend a Ranger

theyve definitely got their weaknesses though

the rear axle (ford 8.8") is really strong. motor is decent. but, the tranny is shit. super weak until rebuilt stornger. prone to falling apart as well. and if your looking at doing any further 4 wheeling, the ford scissor arm in the front is sometimes worse than IFS. the rear is only limited slip, but still, strong. get a xj (cherokee), you can get em for $500. I got mine for 500 and built it up from there, right now im sitting at 4000 into it, repairs, new parts, lift, tires, bigger axle.

and there are a ton of cherokee parts available at junkyards, so if u break it, and are somewhat mechanically inclined, theyre really easy to fix.

FAIL.

I just wish subaru made something like the baja except made it super baller like the el camino... that I would be stoked on.

besides the fact that my car gets little to no use when I'm not going skiing? So I'm actually using less gas then all the eco-friendly assholes zipping around everywhere in their brand new priuses. And what use is a car to me if it can't get me to the best snow? Fuck putting chains on, especially when its snowing.

SAAB 900s goes like a tank in the snow, as long as you run snows on it. huuuge truck and thule box=prime skimobile

^best investment yet, probably not if you only plan on going to one mountain and/or have a house at the mountains, but if you are looking for some solid road trips with lots of friends along for the ride get an RV. one person drives and the rest sit around the kitchen table smoking blunts and watching TV

can i make a correction on that...

OLDER jeeps rock... yours is a tank (my friend;s family is looking for one to replace the old van for the boat-towing vehicle). the 93-95 wranglers are awesome, and im a fan of the CJs (especially the CJ8, but those are quite hard to find)

new jeeps=crap, especially the new GCs and the wranglers (esp. the 4 door ones)

yes, grand cherokees suck, but. do not call out jeeps. 93-95 wranglers are awesome is a rediculous thing to say since a 92 is the same vehicle. motor, axles, tranny. if you think a cj8 is dope shit, check out some cj5's man. those things go like no other. they stopped making them because they were too small and kept on rolling over. my pops had a cj5 with a 350 in it, full size trucks couldnt keep up with it.

New jeeps dont = crap. saying a jeep is shit is so broad, since they are now not mainly focused on wheelin and gettin abused, since most of the new jeeps are unibody design, for more comfort, smoother ride, they are now focusing on a new market. The new wranglers are the fuckin shit. i saw u have a yota. did toyota come out with stock electonic lockers? sway bar diconnects? no, cuz new yotas have IFS, which for technical trails is shit. why do many toyota wheelers

shit, it cut me off...

why do many toyota wheelers do SAS (solid axle swaps)? The new wranglers (JK's) can come with stock 4:11 gears, and a rear Dana 44. Mind you it does have a Dana 30 up front, but, i have that same combo in my cherokee and it takes a shat load of abuse. The new JK's are by far the most capable vehicle brand new for wheelin. Also, why 93-95 wranglers? the yj, was produced from 87 til 96. the tj's started in 96 and where made till 06. The tj's kick ass wheelin is you can afford a newer vehicle. way more lift kits, long arm kits since it is coils and not leafs like the yj, and earlier jeeps. they have taken what they know from every other single other jeep they have produced and made the new JKs kick ass.

so never, ever, diss a jeep. just dont.

wow thats a lot. hmm..

well ya sry abt the 92.. its the same, i forgot.. my knowledge isnt very good when it comes to jeeps.. yotas are more my thing. i have a 96, yea.. base model + bigger 4banger + ext cab+ 4wd (manual hubs)+ skid plates, but NO diff locker (damn.. yota put them in starting in 98 and only 6cyl too so no luck.. ARB locker is down the road pending cash flow). but i like older jeeps (arent the CJs basically the same body with different options and stuff? like cj3 had 3 or 4 spd manual, cj7 had 4 or 5 and shit like that?)... cherokees=dope if you have a manual.

but the new stuff? i mean i saw a 08 compass today and almost puked. consumer reports gave them bad reviews, and frankly, i thought Jeep meant tough and off-road worthy, but the vehicles in the line-up now are dissappointing. i see moms driving around the 4 door wranglers and they OBVIOUSLY dont leave the pavement. yuck.

but i have a friend with a 93 wrangler with a 7 inch total lift and 35s. supercharged 4banger that cranks 170ish hp i think. its nice.

so no hate towards your love of jeeps, just the moms who mishandle and misrepresent them
