Best Cameras for Skiing

Just wondering what cameras are best for filming. I want something with better quality than the gopro, but I need it to have a price range between $400-$600. Also any good suggestions for poles and other equipment for cameras.

if you want clean good looking footage get a nice canon t3i like said before. the quality is a lot better than any gopro. kids at my mountain seem to use opteka x grip stabilizers or glidecams both work well.

I have a nikon D5100 and it is probably my favorite camera yet to take to the mountain

Get a class 10 memory card though.

T3i, if you ever want to film something else than extreme sports, you won't go far with an action cam.

Have you used nikonhacker's bitrate increase and manual ISO hack? If not, you should.

Ive been fucked by my memory card waaaay too many times... Worth the investment if you want to take vids longer than 5 seconds..

panasonic tm700. I have one and a t3i and I honestly use the tm700 a lot more for filming skiing.
