Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any input as to what the is the best boots to prevent shin splints? And any input at all for the best all around boots would be great. Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing.

There's plenty of room for all of God's creatures. Right next to the mashed potatoes.

I'd rather be rich than stupid.

Anything with the custom form fitting soles, but you have to get them form fitted at the shop. The specific boot it self does not do anything, custom foot beds are what stops shin splints.

Laterails:Yeah i think they aren't adjusted, or it could be the fact that all that is holding them together is one of my pubes

nothing completely prevents it but i know that rossignol soft boots do the job real well. they are the best boots i have ever skiied in...actually they are the only boots i have skiied in...

Chop/cut off all the plastic in front to the top buckle, remove the heel screw if there is one and add booster straps!!

I seriously don't think that any one boot will prevent shin splints, maybe with the exception of the soft boots

just make sure you get comfy ones, mine are cheap atomics but they are comfortable as hell. There is no one good boot. You have to go around trying out each one to see which one u like best.

you pretty much want to eliminate all the space between your shin and the tonge of the boot...you can be creative and use foam/padding to fill that space and use a booster strap to pull it nice and tight against your shin.

Although I have race boots, I have still had problems though after I pull my extra strap as hard as I can. I was going to buy soft boots but I wanted a stiffer boot for big mtn. skiing.

landing over your feet works absolute wonders to prevent shin splints, but for the times when that just isn't possible... switching from nordica beasts to 1080 boots helped me out a ton. HOWEVER, lots of other people swear by their nordicas and think they're the greatest thing ever, so don't take my word for it. find a boot that fits your foot and is snug around the shin (and don't forget to work on landing over your feet!)

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.

I suggest cutting the cuff shell out of the way above the top buckle so that the booster strap is tightening against the tongue. Booster straps are replacements for the cuff strap that has elastic in it.. about $25 a pair --
