Best Big-Mountain/Backcountry Skier

Too many good guys to pick a favourite.... But if I had to pick two, it would be the two Eric's. Eric Hjorleifaona for big lines, spines, and charging. And Eric Pollard for his slow motion, graceful jibbery, on all parts of the mountain. But there really are so many other awesome skiers. Sage, Seth, Chris, Andy, Wiley, Pep, Kaj, A bunch of the SFTV crew, A bunch of the 4FRNT crew, Collin squared, Sean, Charley, J.P., Tatum, Callum, Ingrid, Lynsey, Molly, Chad, A bunch of people who spawn from the mountains with the last name Treadway, Boronowski, Rory, Heim, Dana, Eliel. Like that's all I got off the top of my head, there are way more though, you get the point. Everyone's been killing it. TL;DR

yea really way to many good shredders out there to list, ill throw ian mac and dana flahr into the list too as i didnt see them get mentioned.

Drew Tabke and Reine Barkered deserve a mention due to their results on the FWT. And then there's Kye, Sage, Hoji, Cody Townsend, Henrik Winstedt, Sean Pettit, Candide, and a few more I'm probably be forgetting.

Uhmmm, that's a tough one. Not the best but Candide, Fabio Studet and Sean Pettit are probably my favourites

Lol, his edit was basically park tricks in pow, no "real" skiing (big burly lines with high speed and risk)

I was very impressed by Candide's big mountain skiing. The dude is so fat through some gnarly lines and charges everything. Hard to say though who the best is, but he is fun to watch.

As far as all around backcountry, thats a toss up between all the names previously mentioned. However for pure big mountain, the title goes to sage withput a doubt. Slays gnarlier lines than everyone else, faster, smoother and throws fucking massive tricks in the middle. Man is insane

really no one said dash? He may not be "the best" by some of your standards but he fucking throws down some crazy natural hits

Sammy can ski big lines too dude, have you seen any of his AK footage that he shot with TGR? ALso, supposedly he has some really sick spine lines in the bag for this years TGR movie. Not to mention he has the sickest flow in the backcountry when it comes to BC lines and pillows. So fluid and controlled.

Sage is soo fucking under rated !! Hes amazing !! so much style and flow hes skiings Jeremy Jones...

For straight up gnarness and balls though Shaun P is probably the best.. followed closely by Eric Hojl

, Aurelian Decrow and Ian Mac...

No offense dude but sammy kind of flails all over the place when he skis anything outside of park and he definitely can't touch the lines that people like sage and Ian ski regularly, and yes I've seen his TGR footy. Not saying sammy's not a great skier but it seems like a lot of park kids have no idea what the fuck good big mountain style and lines are. Saying that people like sammy and P white are even close to the top of the big mountain game is ridiculous, its like claiming that an upcoming park skier who can only throw a couple of basic, ugly dubs and has no rail game is the best because he's a sick racer and you like his racer style. I'm not hating at all on any of the park cross over guys, I really respect what they're bringing to the backcountry, but there is no fucking comparison when it comes down to it unless you include backcountry freestyle which is closer to park than big mountain.

I've always thought that if you could combine Hoji's and Ian Mac's skills into one it would be the ultimate. Hoji's fluidity and Ian's ability to just destroy the gnar. Unstoppable.

ill also add to the list...all of those random chamonix locals that youll never hear of yet shred harder than the pros in the movies a lot of times.

i always think its so stupid when people get worked up about that, hes still stomping stuff that no body else would

look at candide too, he's throwing windmills all the time, does that make him a bad skier?
