I wanna know and I wanna know now. and dude the next thing to do is to make the same bet except you gotta try snowboarding
 
sorry guys, he chickened out bigtime.

i went up with my other friend who skis on free demo day and they had loads of free gear to try, and i made a big deal the night before about how we were gonna get up early and go for it and actually do the bet, but when i called my snowboarder friend to head up with us he made up some bullshit about having to go lift for preseason football or something. it was february, so that's obviously a complete load of shit, right?

anyway, the point is we didnt have another opportunity because the season is so fucking short down in the lower east coast, and when we went out to tahoe it would have cost almost 100 bucks for him to demo all the gear he needed to compete. im definitely disappointed it didnt happen, especially because he talked soooooooooooooooo much shit, but ill make sure i get it going next year. im moving to aspen in december and hes coming up during the x-games and spring break, so ill figure something out for sure.
 
thanks for all the threatening messages though, i completely forgot about the bet, kinda freaked me out to know this thread came back to life...but ill definitely make it happen next season
 
your gonna win easily... but this is actually a pretty scary type of bet.. hustlers make this kind of bet. but since its for only 100 u dont really have to worry about that. if it was for more id be worried. Reason is he could practice day in and day out before the demo day while you arnt worried one bit and even be able to surpass u. There is a famous poker player who made a prop bet vs a top pro tennis play that he could beat the pro 2/10 time in matches.. Well he went out with a top tennis pro trainer came out and won 2 games in the first 7. for a large sum of money.
 
I don't know man... one of my friends from the hill was a boarder and the first day he was on skis i'm pretty sure he was going huge and getting 2 on, switch ups, 2 and 4 outs, spins, and backflips... not long after he was stomping frontflips, misty flips, lincolns, 3's, and 5's along with some other stuff. Don't under estimate him, cuz you just never know
 
hahahaha seriously...as far as the bet goes, hes comin out to aspen next year to hang out and watch the x-games i think. im still not super sick or anything, but ill have like 30-40 consecutive days of solid practice in before he even gets a single day on east coast snow next year, so im not to worried about it.

my only concern is that he somehow manages to back out of the bet claiming that my extra practice is unfair. the way he's still talking shit, however, leads me to believe he thinks he could beat me even if i had like a 3 year head start on preparation. so fuck him, he's goin down.

i snowboard, and the first time i picked up skis last winter i had done a 3 by noon. but i had skiied from age 3 to 9 or something. be careful because some kids are real comfortable with inverts, and he could possibly throw a lincon or backflip or something that doesnt require an excessive amount of skill, just guts.

destroy that kid please, and i definitly want to see that vid.
 
You are a retard. If he has never skied in his entire life, then it is pretty obvious that you should beat him pretty bad. You should be worried about him even getting a letter on you. If he does, you should be embarrassed. Obviously this kid is a little cocky, so it makes you look pretty damn stupid when make a completely hypocritical thread.

i used to snowboard when i was like 5 and could barley turn. i want to put a snowboard on and pull a front or back sometime, it seems huckable even though i dont know how to snowboard. possible? anyone tried? if so i want to bet someone on it, kinda the opposite of what you want to do.
 
I'm sure you could. I busted a brake last season and rented a board for a few hours, I was getting some 180's and boardslides and little things in there. Snowboarding and Skiing are super similar sports, and very transferable skills, especially when it comes to tricks which are basically just gymnastics anyway.
