Best backcountry ski?

I am considering buying the marker dukes and want a fairly fat but not too heavy ski to mount them on. What do you all think?

theyr not super fat but theyr crazy light and got really good flex for backcountry

what size waist you lookin for and where are you gonna be skiin? (east coast west coast)
 
how tall are you...how stiff of a ski do you want....do you only want to ride bc with it...do you want a twin tip...
 
I am 6,4 and weigh like 170, I am looking for a twin somewhere around a hundred waist and will be riding in Montana and the Wasatch back country
 
I wouldn't say seths, gots or bacons could be called light.

188 jp vs juliens- rediculously light, excellent for touring due to their straighter sidecut and ski great in pow. perfect. seriously.
 
Get a nordica supercharger enforcer it is 135-98-125 they have a twin tip and can rip any terrain...if you want something wider get a blower...
 
Still need more info...How do you ski?What type of terrain are you skiing?Huge lines or mellow pow? What skis have you liked/disliked?

Nobody can make a true recommendation without knowing these things...I would scratch off anything really soft/really wide right away personally unless your just going into the backcountry for pow and dont plan on skiing various conditions.
 
Try the Ninthward THA 187's. They're really light, have a solid flex and seem like they should be a good length for you.
 
EP, Bacon, hellbent, gun, steeze, seth, arg, got, etc. you gotta give a little more info, but still there are going to be alot of answers
 
seths- basicaly got one slush day on em last season( gottem off here late in the season ) but got out one day, litteraly the best ski i have EVER ridden!
 
My friend has dukes mounted to these bad boys and loves 'em

personally i would go with either the k2 seths or jp vs. juliens. other good options are the line prophet 100's or if ur lookin a little wider waist ski the line elizibeths. all great sick and hold up great in pow. peace
