Im headin out to colorado just after christmas and am definitely going to breck for the park. Just wondering which resort has the best back country in the summit county area. I heard that a-basin is pretty sick.

a-basin is only sick if there is a shitload of snow and the east wall is open. go to vail and hit blue sky basin, go to winter park and hit mary jane, go to breck and hike peak 7 & 8, go to copper and hike copper bowl...just to name a few options

Back country gate at the top Palivicini heads to the Beaver Bowl and Snake Pit to the west of the resort.

Mary Jane (Snow in the trees swallowed me past my navel!) and Berthoud right now Mo Foe's that's all that I can say.

Berthoud and Red Cliff pass' r the best right now...i would stay on berthoud for saftey purposes tho...

I wish i was a gangster

Monarch has a sweet back country if u know where to go...wolf creek is kind of tricky...u have to be at the resort pretty much and by that point just ski wolf creek

I wish i was a gangster

Dont ski backcountry if you dont have a beacon/shovel/probe/partner. Co's snowpack is the most dangerous in the US. But I dont think you are referring to backcountry, I think you mean off-piste skiing. Sooo, hit up A-basin if there is a lot of snow (which there wont be), hike peak 8 and 7 at breck, hit up chairs 6 and 11? (off the side of peak 9, winter park, copper bowls...etc.
