Best Athletes in the world

ok here is my question, what group are really the best? we can all make a case for skiing but I want an open conversation, part of the reason i call skiing and most action sports the best is because it takes allot of balls to hit what we hit and trick off it. plus the agility and stamina to be active at 12,000ft. and over all coordination of pro skiers is plane ridicules.

so lets here some suggestions and dont just say football, I want reasons

skiing is my favorite sport but the most ballz sport is deff hockey those guys get the crap beat out of them all the time, and its actually fun to watch unlike other normal sports. but extreme sports r good to watch

o and cause for rugby you get the shit kicked out of you and then you still have to run like a bitch and the game rarely stops. and tri athletes for the obvious reasons

all those endurance marathoners that like run across the shara and shit or those ultra triathlons that are like twice as big as regular ones

this has been talked about over and over again and people tend to believe that boxing requires the most coordination, speed, agility, and cohonas. ali was probly the best so i guess he really was the greatest

I'd say gymnasts are pretty nuts too, I mean, they do fucking triple backflips off of flat ground (youtube it). And long distance runners are pretty nuts.

what? i've never seen a soccer match where anyone sprinted nonstop. there's always some jogging and milling around. sure soccer is some pretty intense running, but... if we're talking stamina, swimmers and water polo players are the real badasses.

i love skiing, but the pros are not even close to the best athletes in the world.

Im gonna say Football and Basketball.

There are thousands of kids who are absolutely filthy at basketball, one reason being because it doesnt cost any money, anyone can get a ball and find a hoop and get good, but there are only 10 people on a few pro teams. Think about how many kids play basketball compared to how many kids ski....you have to be better than so many people to make it in basketball

And then football because these guys are the epidemy of fit. There are lineman in the NFL who weigh 300 lbs and can still run a sub 5 second 40. Thats pretty insane if you ask me. For a skill position in the NFL you arent even looked at if you dont run around a 4.4, and are jacked on top of it

wheelchair triathletes

swim w/o use of legs,

bike up to 112 miles with your arms,

wheel yourself another 26.2 and tell me that they aren't the best athletes

sorry to whoever said soccer but i'm sorry lets see david beckham ride his bike through the alps 100 miles a day for 28 days

all you biking people, theres more than just endurance in athleticism. spped, agility, jumping, strength. Ide have to say NBA small forwards are the best all around athletes, or NFl safeties. they all have to be strong, fast, have great jumping abitlity and good endurance

i play rugby football and hockey and i still think that basketball players might be the top athletes, event hough i don't play. It's just up and down the court the whole time and it also requires a shitload of skill so it seems pretty intense to me

cyclists and gymnists, the highest tier, are crazy.

but also, some rock and mountain climbers are insane. Talk about strength, agility, endurance, skill, precision, etc. etc.

yea, the decathlon is probably the most intense. don't think there's coordination? try pole-vaulting. distance, sprints, upper body, the whole bit.

another i would mention are adventure racers. the people who race for days mountain biking, climbing, hiking, running, rappelling, sleeping like 2 hrs per night, being lost in the woods with only a compass. that shit is nuts.

those are my votes.

motocross... not the freestyle ramp stuff, but racing.

You're launching off rutted faces with five other riders next to you in mid air while racing on a roughed out track for 30 minutes in the heat while handling around a 200 lbs machine.

NFL Football players, especially runningbacks. they are the strongest people in the world that are still agile. You want fearless? going up against Urlacher doesn't scare the shit out of you? Thats fuckin fearless.

although skiers are defenetly not the best athletes strenth and endurance wise they are very skilled , sorta a diff thing but still really hard

Skiers, but Nordic Skiers. Those guys go really long distances for a really long time at higher elevations

i would say:

gymnastics - insane shape, super riped

cyclists - insane shape, lance armstrong has the highest heartbeat out of anyone on earth, super endurance

triathlon people - they do so many things at once for such long distances, insane shape in many areas and super endurance

runners (any kind) - they must have super endurance in any distance, whether its 50 k or 1 mile

XC skiiers - i'm one, and i can tell you going up and down for 50 K is some insanely hard shit. most i've done is like 20km and that was flat.

there might be a couple i missed

ironmen (and women) may not be the best atheletes per say but they have the most endurance hands down. possibly tour de france riders coming behind in endurance. as far as athleticism goes, it is very, very hard to tell

Wrestlers. Yea I am gonna go with that. Not fucking pro wrestling shit but Collegiate and Olympic level wrestlers. It takes skill and shitloads of repition to execute different moves, you have to be able to read and respond to your opponent which sports like running have none of. The physical shape wrestlers of that level are in is insane. You have to be super strong and have endurance beyong belief to last a round on the mat, let alone 3. Also you don't have teamates to pick up your slack. Lastly, The dedication that wrestlers put into their sport is unrivaled. So I am going with that.

not knocking on you or wrestling, but i think that the dedication that they put in IS rivaled because once you get up to that level, everyone puts in sooo much work its not even funny.

i heard this somewhere that at most fitness tests, with people from many different sports, bozers tend to do the best. so maybe those UFC guys

^ i assume u meant to write boxers?? and yeah ufc fighters, i mean it takes alot of talent to play pro ball or be the best cyclist in the world, but what requires more athleticism than fighting? its true, they've been tested for it

you cant single it down to one sport. soccer palyers are insane because basically everyone in the world plays soccer and they are the best. rowers are insane athletes, marathon runners and 800 runners are insane. bc skiers are pretty crazy, not so much park skiers. but it all comes down to what your body is tuned for

Pro Skateboards have the highest amount of leg and foot coordination. And amazing visualization.

There is no doubt that they have the craziest amount of coordination.

If you don't agree with me, go skate for 5 years, then watch a couple of pro skate demos.

It's stupid what they are able to accomplish.

I can't believe no ones said skating yet before me.

But athletic wise, like training and stuff, gymnasts for sure. They train stupid hard. Some start at around age 8 and train for like 6 hours every single day for like 15 years straight.

It's ridiculous.
