Closest is Summit, then Stevens, then there's Crystal south and Baker up north. Different people will claim different mountains are the best. For your uncle, if he's pretty experienced Stevens would probably be his best bet. I prefer Snoqualmie (summit) only because its closer, and I grew up skiing there so its my home mountain (and passes are cheap there).

Snoqualmie is about 45 minutes from Seattle, Stevens is about 1.5 hours. Baker and crystal are both about, what... 2-3 hours?

i like stevens because their terrain is so diverse. if you take up skyline, then 7th, you can get to prime powder fields, groomers, chutes, and park all in 1 run. i havnt noticed that you can do that at any of the other mountains, at least not of the same good quality...

blahblahblah

I like snoqualmie better than steven in nearly every category except snow quality... if you want powder, don't go to snoqualmie. stevens is higher up and get more, better quality snow.

huckbunni3: I'm soooo hot! Blow me!

thats a very good point, we are only blessed on the BEST of the best powder days at alpental. even then its skied out pretty quick.

alpental requires hiking... if you know how walk uphill you will find the goods

but do recognize, "snow permitting" is a big BIG point in grant's comment there.

we were open 2 weeks last year, no exageration. 14 days.

didn't stevens have an ok park last year? or maybe the year before? i basically never go there, but i thought it was ok. I think they have better terrain to build a park on (all the stuff over on the brooks side of stevens). Much more diverse and long run.

Snoqualmie (especially west) is just like top of chair, straight down flat park, bottom of chair. central has a little more variety, but still. Its not really a ski "run"

stevenspass fuckin sucks. there park this year if you want to call it a park sucked. there closed more than they were open all season. Stevenspass is a race oriented mountain with bunch a fruits

um pretty much all the mountains around here are race oriented, however, snoqualmie is certainly investing the most into park out of any ski area in the state, but damn they were even closed more than stevens, so stop running your mouth boy. although, stevens still doesnt have a fucking clue, and if anybody wants to say otherwise (such as gormley said to me) just look at their absolutely horrid rail selection...

Gormley's a stupid monkey and snoqualmie doesn't get any fucking snow, you wanna ski? move somewhere else

stevens park crew is working on getting the budget for this coming season.....we'll see how that goes. i wont believe that the';ll have a park to be stoked on till i hear its done

blahblahblah
