This years line mothership is a great ski. Great for floating pow and big mtn as well as hucking.

I also own K2 ak enemys which kick ass. Fast, stiff and great big mtn ski.

well im looking for something that will still be really good inbounds. not just a pow ski since i don't ski real deep pow all that much.

Sleep is overrated. But i do it all the time anyways cause im a fucking poser.

Last Years Volant Machete Huckster, best all around ski I have ever tried!

Volkl V-Pro, Head Madtrix (in one of the longer lengths), Karhu Ruckit (exact same ski as the Head Maverick, only stiffer).

Telefreeride: big boards, free heels, no poles, all soul

the motherships, the 03 teneightys or the mad trix would all be good choices

enemys rule the all mountain scene, nice side cut, twin tipped, flexy enough to be forgiving on hard pack.

BY FAR I think it's the salomon 1080, 2003 model. Perfect dimensions for anything.....and a great construction. I've heard good things about the k2's as well, but i'm a salomon man.

the dimensions are good on the 1080, but they're too soft and the foam core won't be as nice on the rest of the mountain compared to the wood core of the v pro. i bet the k2 pe would be pretty tight too tho.

From the start to the gun I never claimed to be right.

I ski concepts, and love em, but havn't tried any ungroomed yet this year. but some of my friends have the old 1080's and love em and the enemy too. try and demo them if possible.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What ya doin?

diggen.

Why?

make a hole.

What for?

more diggen.

The new 1080's are very well rounded, ppl asume the foam core blows but don't listen to them, the skiis rock all-mtn

The only problem with the teneighties is they are really soft and not stiff enough for heavier skiers. Otherwise, they are great skis.

I could see if you were 180+ pounds that the new 1080s may be a bit on the soft side.

oh yeah, what you gain in stiffness you pay in weight so remember that.

Top choices, 1080, V-Pro for a wider ski... concepts for something a bit skinnier.

No Mr.Porcupine, I don't wanna see your weiner

if you are willing to give a little on them not being a true twin tip the rossi bandit line are great all mountain and can still take off or land switch, also always look for last years models if you are looking to save some dough.

Gotta love the midwest

2003 K2 PUBLIC ENEMYS Pretty Similar to the 1080s but stiffer and way more bomb proof

I see where you guys are coming from about the foam cores. But I think that the new spaceframe technology makes up for the foam core. I cannot tell you how nice that new core is and how sweet the new topsheet is....it's something you have to try. If you're a woodcore man, you should consider trying it as well, you'll find it rides much more like you're used to.......so in this case, don't knock it till you try it.

yeah i guess i'll have to find somewhere that i can demo them. yeah i don't know about the foam core thing since im about 6'2' and 190 pounds.

Sleep is overrated. But i do it all the time anyways cause im a fucking poser.

madtrix, v-pro or v-explosive, or pocket rockets. depending on how much you weigh, 188 scatch bc or 188 ak enemy may be a little big.

For all you people that keep reccomending these wide-ass skis - NOT EVERYONE GETS TO SKI POW EVERY DAY! Some of us might need stiff skis with a mid-fat waist (~75). PR's, Motherships, AK ANYTHING, and the like are hardly 'all mountain' skis - they are mainly for the west where pow is a daily reality.

Gregg- you are right. it is a big ski. It's also a good all mountain ski for it's size, you should try it. Impressive to say the least. But, I am with you, I suggested the 1080 a long time ago, but suggestion seemed to have been knocked off.

best all mtn twin out there is the 2002 185 kneissl supafly (Yes the kneissl) it has a stiffer than normal flex a longer length, and also has phat graphix, if u cant find those go with the 2002 dynastar concept 180

You can't really go wrong with most of the suggestions... With the Exception of the Mentally impared person who said Elan... haha... retard. V-Pros are fucking amazing, but i hate the graphix and they are expensive.

Whovever suggested 1080s and Motherships is also prettty dumb, those skis are not similar at all the Mothership is WAY to fat to be considered an All Mountain Twin. PUBLIC ENEMYS RULE

definately go for something in a mid-fat range. the bandit XX is pretty good but there's not a whole lot of twin on the tail, there's the stomp, and nordica's beast line

the scratches are the best ski available hands down. they hold an amazing edge for carving (no joke), they give a really good pop and they can go everywhere. if your from the east i suggest the fs but if you live in the west get the bc. I gotta pair a couple of weeks ago and they are the best ski i've ever owned. even with the large width the skis are real easy to manouver, they are easier for landing, they are wide enough for the deeps and you can beat the shit outta them, cause there bombproof. scratches are your best bet.

sacrifice, to some its just a word, to others it is a code, what matters is the colony, he is willing to live for the colony, fight for the colony, die for the colony.

2002 enemy was a sick all-around ski, as are scratch's tho the scratchs are probably too soft for larger riders. i'd say go for either last or this years k2 enemy

I am not doing the grabs because I am getting a thrill out of touching my ski-JP Auclair

The Bandit XXX has as much of a twin as the Maverick. The difference is that the Maverick's tail is rounded while the Bandit's is not

Telefreeride: big boards, free heels, no poles, all soul

the line skogens handle everything pretty well i hear, and the site gives it a 4 out of 5 on powder and 5 in the park

the new pocket rockets are dope all over. I've been using mine the past few days and they kill the whole mountain. They aren't the best on the groomed, but if you're a good skier then you will have no problem with them. oh yes, and they are nice in powder too. get the 185's

From the start to the gun I never claimed to be right.

i think the Line mavericks are an all mtn twin

----now i lay me down to sleep, blah blah blah my soul to keep, if i die before i wake ill go to hell for heavons sake.

Skitolive: The Bandit XXX, Maverick, and Ruckit (Karhu) all have tips that are 30mm high. That's probably as much as any other 'twin tip' on the market, with the exception of Line's skis (not counting the Maverick or Darkside) which all have equal height tips and tails. If a ski must have an equal height tip and tail, then only Line's twins count as real twins. If a ski only needs an upturned tail to be a twin, then even the Bandit XX (20mm) and XXX (30mm) can be considered twins.

Telefreeride: big boards, free heels, no poles, all soul

Ski: It makes sense. However, not all twins are park skis. The Maverick is an all mountian twin, as is the Madtrix and was the Dragon. I think that a 'park only' ski wouldn't be stiff enough for all mountain riding either.
