Bern Baker, Hard hat or EPS?

Well the Bern Baker helmet comes in two types 'Hard Hat' and 'EPS'. They don't explain the difference at all on their site so I emailed them and asked what the difference was. They gave me a very vague answer so... Anyone know what the difference is? I tried on the Hard Hat version at my local shop and it felt just like any other helmet I've owned.

I definitely dig the look of the helmet too and wante to get one. I did some digging around and it seems that the Hard Helmet is not designed for winter sports. EPS seems to be a good quality foam found in some higher end helmets and from what I read should offer better protection.

They have definitely positioned the hard hat awkwardly on the market? Seems like it is more of a kayaking, skate, etc. helmet and not desgined for snow, although it does have that knit liner???

It might cost more but go for the EPS if you are worried about safety.

The hardhat is a general usage, multi-impact helmet designed more to protect your head from the physical contact with hard objects (rocks, pavement, rails etc). The EPS is a standard helmet designed for impacts at speed.
 
Allright thanks, they actually both have the knit liner, at least ones I tried on did, and they all felt the same. But Bern did say the EPS offers more protection, and the hard hat is for 'people who don't like wearing helmets'. But yea I'm going to get the EPS in matte white, looks sick, time to get rid of my 4 year old pos helmet.

I just got my Bern Baker Helmat yesterday... It's sick. Make sure you have some smallish framed goggles . My wisdoms are a little big but other than that it is super comfy and looks sick
