BERFORE YOU BUY/SELL/TRADE YOU SHOULD ALWAYS

Well after so many kids becoming members on this site and so many kids deciding to become scumbags and scam kids I figured i would post the obvious.

1) were all here the use this site because we all love the winter and this makes us a community

2) 98% of us are skiers which make us an even greater community

3) people work hard for thier shit so scaming them and talking their money or goods is fucking lame

4) karma is a fucking bitch

So before you buy/sell/trade to anyone, just simple ask for some info which should include but is not limited to

1) name

2) adress

3) telephone number of cell/house or both

4) age

5) always ask for a shipping number/tracking number/ recipt

6) ask to get parents involved if they are young

If it is too good to be true then it most likely is so

1) dont deal with new members

2) always ask for reference of people they have delt with

3) use the searhbar of the member you are dealing with to see if heor she has been called out

4) dont read msg and not respond.. its annoying

5) use paypal, it is the safest way to ensure you get your goods or your money back

6) if you feel like you are getting scammed dont wait, call them out, make a claim on paypal(you have 45 days I believe to do this)

7) if you dont feel comfortable buying on here, ask the seller to list it on ebay for that extra security

8) ask if any othere member on this site live by them so that if you get scammed then you will ahve someone that will be able to ake a visit

9) ask a MOD if the member has any alias

10) if possible get the local police nuber and call them and ask if they can make a visit

I have been scamed on here twice and it sucks. I work my ass off for my money, as most of us do, so when people are scammed sometimes it is hard to to replace what was stolen.

USE THE FEEDBACK SECTION IN PEOPLE'S PROFILES TO ADD COMMENTS IF THEY ARE LEGIT OR SHADY.

Good luck with everyone and their sales and I hope that the Scamming goes back down.

Less hate more love

number 10 seems a LITTLE extreme, but i can see where you're coming from. i get so sketched buying stuff on here lately...

that should be common knowledge but you never know, if it saves one kid from getting ripped off it's worth it. (hahaha so cliche)

sticky possibly?

I did 10 after I got scammed and they were willing to stop by and talk so it helped. But I just looked it up myself, pretty easy with google

Nice thread.

It's a shame that you can't give people the benefit of the doubt any more and assume they are legit.

I have to say though, 99% of this site would be legit, but like you - I have been screwed over 3 or 4 times now so care needs to be taken.

The feedback system is great (provided people use it)

RE: Calling people out - I wouldn't say that an instant call out thread is necessary. A few weeks is about right before majking a public thread. (Otherwise someone won't get a response to a pm and go and make a callout thread etc)

Most of the problems with trading are to do with efficiency.

At the end of the day, my thoughts on trading are as follows:

If you are selling gear and someone is prepared to pay you quickly, then there is NO REASON why you can't hold up your end of the bargain and ship quickly.

There is absolutely no excuse for taking a week to get to a post office.

If for some reason you are a lazy fuck or you have other commitments which will inhibit your ability to send the item quickly, then STATE IT IN THE SALE THREAD before taking payment from someone.

Combining all the times i've been scammed here, I would have lost over $1000, as a result I only really deal with members who I know are trustworthy, and more often than not, they are donators.

Good thread.

oh yeah in a situation like yours, that would be the way to go. i was thinking you meant like a "background check" done by the police before you bought/sold to them haha.

not sooo much, its so easy to donate and thereway a MOD not too long ago that fucked over some kids hardcore

some people, like myself, come on this website just to buy and sell. i snowboard and i just interested in selling. so you shouldnt jyst not sell to new people. dont just say dont sell to us, just be careful.

i personally haven't been screwed over, but i've only bought a couple of times because i'm reasonably new to ns (maybe 6 months), but that's dope of you to take your time to make a thread to ensure safety of you, me, and all of the other nsers.

by the way guys, i can't possibly believe that nsers are scamming each other, it's fucking rediculous, what goes around comes around which means sucks for scammers, and +k for the maker of this thread

"I have been scamed on here twice and it sucks"

Which part of the "before you buy/sell/trade you should always" rules did you forget when you got screwd over, totally sucks

no donators are not safer, me and 3 other persons were ripped off by a donator his account is Skizzy

so don't buy from him

now you can't claim donators are safer because anyone can buy that now...just ask for feed back and see who has purchased with them and what not

oo i like this thread.. everyone should read this... we need to get Bishop to find away to make sure all new members read this..
