Bent Chetler length

Hey guys.

I've been thinking about getting the bent chetler with marker jester 16 bindings. Im 20 years old, about 184 cm and 80 kg. Im really not sure whether i should go with the 183 or the 192 (dont know if i can handle it). I have only been on a pair of powder skis twice before (never had my own), but my current ar7s are 176cm.

Hope some of you can help me out here.

If I were you i would definetly go 183. I have the 183 length chetlers and im taller than you by 5 inches, but i weigh less than you. It also depends on what kind of terrain your skiing, If your most always skiing open bowls or any type of above tree line backcountry you will be able to send it more on the 193 or whatever the other lenght is. But having the 183 wont hurt you either in the open backcountry. The shorter ski will be much more playful and maneuvarable, and if your skiing trees most of the time you definetly want to go 183. I have the chetler 183 and i couldnt be more happier! Won them at the light the wick premiere in boston and shredded on them in the trees here on the east coast on those east coast pow days and brought them out to steamboat springs and ripped on them out there too. Definetly a great choice for a pow ski, Have a sick time on them!

Allright, thanks for the reply. I will probably ski most above tree line and build some BC kickers and jib around a little. So i might be getting the 183. But i have thought about if i were to get the 192 i would center mount them instead of going -2 or -2.5 with the 183. Any idea how that would work out?

that wouldnt be a bad idea, because of the rocker of the chetler center mounting them would be fine. personally i still think 192 is still a bit too large for you, but its your call.

Get the 183 unless you're a charger.

I'm 5'11'' and 185 lbs. I got the first generation of Bent Chetlers and was freaked out about them being too small. I mounted them 2.5 cms back, and had the time of my life. If you want a jibby pow ski, go 183. the 193 is a lot more of a cruiser. They are agile, but not as poppy of a ski unless you're a really big dude. They are great for big lines though, but I dropped 40 footers and straightlined like crazy on the 183 and had no problems.
