Bent Chetler Help

I'm 17 y/o 5'11 140 pounds and don't know if I should get the 185 or 178 chetlers. I will be skiing at resorts all around the mountain, when there is powder I'll be skiing it. Other than that I will be skiing around in the trees trying to find fun runs with my friends. I want a playful ski and I don't know if the 185 will be too much ski. I also am worried the 178 will feel too short because I have heard the Chets ski short. Any advice on which size to get? Thanks gnarrats
 
3rd'ing this. Horrible idea for an all mountain ski.

Look for something around 108mm waist with some rocker, and a little bit of camber as well if you are keen to it.
 
Get the 185.

Everyone is saying its a terrible all mountain ski. I personally love fat skis. Ive ridden 120mm skis for my one ski quiver before. If you like a fatter ski and live on the west coast I don't think its a bad idea.

I will say that there are much better all mountain skis, but if you know you'll like it then go for it. Ive been wanting some Bent Chets for some time now..

Can you name a better all mountain ski? I'm thinkng kartel 108s or sir Francis bacons. I was thinking to get some Chet's too but I think I need something a littler more all mountain.

Yeah the Kartel 108 would be my top choice for an all mountain ski. You should get those for sure. I have the older Kartel 106s and they're a blast.
 
I think I want something a little wider, billy goats or Kartel 116? They're both 116 under foot so idk what the difference is

If you really want a pow ski, go for it, but it's a lot of ski for a daily driver. I really think the Kartel 108 would be best for what you're saying you'll be skiing. Plus 108 is plenty underfoot for pow days too, especially with how much rocker they have. If you're really set on the pow skis though I'd go for the Kartel 116 because they're gonna be more playful than the billy goat.
