Bent 100s vs Jeffery’s

Should I get bent 100s or Jeffery’s for a jump focused park ski. I also want them to be able to do rails but I already have wides and I just want a stiff park ski for big jumps. Which one would u recommend?

On3ps are some of the most stable skis I’ve been on and will rip all mtn too

Mango 100s will def get bitched around in some bumpy stuff but still rip all around the mtn

I think it's between a Jeff 100 and a mango. For a focused park weapon, the mango is setup to ski more switch. I just came off 3 seasons on the mango for park, mounted true center both 181 and 186 length. I've hit a lot of rails and a fair amount of jumps with them. I just got back on the Jeff 100 to switch it up a bit for fun and they're relatively similar in feel but the Jeff is definitely setup to be mounted back from center at least a bit. The recommended mount on my Jeffs is like -4.5 and on the mangos it's like -2 or something (That could be off but the point remains). If you plan to ski switch a lot and mount close to center, I think you would prefer the mango. In my experience they don't feel much softer if at all to my Jeffs. Maybe the tails are different or something but it's mainly shape and a bit of sidecut that I feel the difference in.

Bents are weak next year too. I just demo’d the 90 and 100 yesterday. Felt zero character in the ski compared to it’s competitors.

I swear, one day Atomic is gonna suck Chris Benchetler’s dick clean off his body lmao

Not surprised they still suck.

I'm pretty sure he had nothing to do with anything other than the 120.

He makes all the bullshit art for the topsheets too. Probably uses 5 grand in materials to come up w splatter paint. Like that bullshit Armada limited shit they commissioned lol

Never tried the skis but I once had the pleasure of blowing Chris Bentchetler in the mammoth lodge bathroom. Stand up guy.

That’s really great, hopefully you atleast got a hat or some stickers for your efforts.

He gave me a small atomic branded microfiber cloth for wiping goggles. Came in handy shortly afterwards.

Honestly you have to appreciate how Chris Bentchetler has stretched his career. When more notable legends have just been flat dropped.

100% agree. It's pretty wild to think about how many better skiers have been passed by.

He sure knows how to market himself. Making himself synonymous with atomic skis was a great move

The fact he does the art work really helped him branch out from the other general “skiers” his style is generally liked over all too which helps.

I have 171 mangos and 176 Jeffreys and I rarely ride the mangos in the park because i really notice the length difference. I also only ski park like 60% of the time. Mangos are definitely the most fun park ski I've tried, you will love them. Just make sure to size up a little. I'm 169 cm tall, 165 lbs for reference

I’ve only rode wides in park. Other then the big difference in stiffness, what are the other differences?

I've never ridden vishnus but id like to try. The Jeff feels only slightly stiffer than Mangos, but does better in soft snow, chunder and higher speeds. It's a bit heavier but only in a reassuring way. The Mangos turn and butter a little better but again not a huge difference. They also seem to do me better in the bumps but that could just be the shorter length. I got them with the park detune which was nice but I don't think it's necessary. Now they are too dull and I've still never had a problem with the normal edges on the Jeff's (I did very slightly detune underfoot myself to avoid edge cracks). Overall id say get the Jeffreys unless you plan to do a bunch of buttering or high amounts of rotation, even then they still excel

He’s they Taylor Swift of skiing

Bought Jeff 100s a month ago, honestly for the flex they have they fucking rip all mountain, genuinely surprised. I came from a blizzard rustler 9 and honestly I like the Jeff better than the rustler in literally every aspect.

I've been struggling to get along with mine in some ways. They are amazing dropping cliffs and pillows, popping off side hits, spins, etc. In soft snow conditions off-piste they are so fun. Not getting them along with them quite yet in steep variable conditions snow and hard packed moguls (not that I choose to go through fucking moguls, but sometimes it happens..). I think I need to mess with the tune a bit and get more acquainted with the ease with which the ski turns/slashes, Currently feeling the tips/tails gripping a too much on hard pack/groomers and over pivoting on steeps. My other ski is tip/tail rocker mounted a -6 so not all that different, but it skis more like a big mountain freeride ski vs the Jeff 100 feeling like a all mountain freestyle ski.

Honestly I really like how they preform on moguls and I’m coming from a very stiff ski, although I do kind of just like slashing and dancing around moguls, I’m not powering through them. They do chatter and move around, but honeslty I’m good with that sacrifice because they kinda just slay everything everywhere on the mountain. I do have to say tho they aren’t a “powerful” ski, but I love them because they’re perfect for turning anything into a kicker

Yeah I'd agree with that. They just want to pop off everything and put out when you load 'em up. From reading around a bit I think the tips and tails need to be detuned more, which is where I am feeling them hooking up in the couple situations I mentioned.

FWIW I massively detune my tips and tails. I literally use a file, and then clean them up with a gummi. I brought home some brand new 118's last week and immediately took a few swipes with the file, and gummi. Skied them and then repeated the process. Now they are perfect. YMMV.

Seems to be a commonality with ON3Ps coming with factory tune. Not an issue if you aren't dealing with really hard pack, icy conditions, but currently that seems to be the popular condition at Stevens Pass. I'm going to do this to mine as well.
