Bending brakes

i just got some px12's and i am not sure whether i should bend them to make them fit or should i just buy the wide brakes on ebay for $30. what do u have to do for the bending and how legit is it?

Depends on how far you have to bend them.

I tried bending 75mm salomon brakes to fit my 120mm Thugs. It didn't exactly work.

Last season i bent my px 12's from 80 to fit a 85mm wide base, it work's but when you stomp a landing, sometimes it might jam!

go on tgr and search for bending brakes or bending p18 fks brakes. There is even a video topic on there. basically since u can buy replacements for ur bindings, u might as well try it, cause if u break one, oh well then just buy a pair no biggie.

bending them will work just as well as not, and it should be pretty easy on px12's

i got px 10 pivots n just bought 08 invaders, so i gotta bend them, so im thinkin heat them up ? ne advice so i dont snap them?

you've gotta up your shop skills. i just bent out the old 75mm solly brakes for my sumos and it worked like a charm.

looks/rossis are much harder to bend though, i think it was a good choice to buy em.

Heating the metal up and letting them cool will cause them to become harder, but also more brittle. Ideally you should heat them, bend them, heat them up again, then quench them to maintain some sort of temper, otherwise they'll be fragile.

Myself, I just bend the crap out of them until they fit.

That would be such a HUGE ski!

But yeah, I had to pull the brakes out on my Px12's to fit my T-Halls, and I had to bend my FKS brakes from 70mm to 86mm-that one was a little tricky.

really? when i put fks on my wrs's i didn't bend em at all. they just flare out a tiny bit. 84 isn't that much smaller than 86
