Benchetler's new ski up on John Simms blog

We haven't locked in the exact release date yet, but early season for sure... I will keep you all posted. We are brainstorming some good ideas with the release.. Cheers,

CB

make some sort of contest! first prize pair of skis, runner up some goggles or something. old school edit contest!

i really liked the article in powder in the back of this months issue. and im pretty stoked you have a pro model now. keep it up

the skis look so ill. there should be a vote over who likes these bases/ the k2 extremes bases more. I wonder what would win.

Well on the face of it, it looks very similar dimensions-wise to the thug:

181 Thug: 139.5/120/132.5

Bentchetler: 142/123/134

you do the maths...

To the couple replies above:

The Bent Chetler will ski entirely different then the thugs. The thugs have a 37m turn radius, while mine have a 19m turn radius. They carve like a dream.

They will actually release early this season, not late. It will be soon, and there will be information about their release by the end of the month.

I'm so happy to see all the positivity. Can't wait for you guys to ski them.

Cheers,
CB

^ You should be able to handle fine at 5'7". I'm only a few inches taller.
As for more info. Still waiting until every ski is out of the molds and ready to ship, for an exact release date. But, it will be soon.
Here is a pic of the rocker, camber, etc... Hope you guys are stoked.

those bases are like the best thing ive seen on a ski this year! ive been waiting so long for someone to throw some tye die on a ski

man I wish you didnt ride atomic. I hate giving my money to that company they get enough from fucking ski racers buying 5 pairs of skis. dope ski though kind of like the bibby looks like fuck gonna have to decide which one to get.

Skis don't know how tall you are, mainly how much you weigh. I know a homey who is 7'1" who rides 179's. Yeah, its crazy. It looks like me carrying 110's.

Answers for you guys: I think I've got them all....
Skis should hit stores and be available by mid December.
Yes, only 50 pairs for this year as an early release, due to the fact that we didn't start the ski until January. It's really a 2010 ski.
As for the flex comparison, it's hard because they ski different to the Hellbents (and I don't have a pair of hellbents to flex side by side, sorry). But, I can tell you that the skis (flex) are very responsive, the camber makes it amazing on and off groomers, and they have great pop. They are relatively soft in the tip and tail, but not TOO soft. I'm not familiar with a number system for flex, but what I did was ski a number of prototypes until we had the ski feeling perfect.
Hope that helps.. And thanks again for all the positive feedback on my graphic. I'm really stoked you guys like it.
Cheers,
CB
