who likes this guy. he is one of my favorites. did anyone notice in freeskier will burks says ben harper is his favorite musician.

ben used to be sorta of underground, now a lot of people know him. hopefully fame doesn't get to him, and i dont think it will. im really excited for his new album realasing in the fall.

theres a natural mystic flowing through the air if you listen carefully now you will hear. its the first trumpet calling. might as well be the last. many more will have to suffer many more will have to die dont ask me why. things are not the way they used to be.
 
yeah ben harper is really good. hes got a unique voice and style. i like his acoustic performances better than when he performs witht he innocent criminals. his lyrics are really inspirational. i dont think fame will get to him, he seems pretty grounded and has his head on straight, and if he does become famous, then hes deserves it

I wouldn't call the guy that unique, but I love his music...

think about Jack Johnson and John Mayer who are similar to him though...

 
John Mayer is like dave mathews, Jack Johnson is alright but nothing special. Ben Harper is soooo unique, there is hardly any other musicians like him.

theres one person that is similar though. the subjects are different but he uses tons of open notes like harper. nick drake. you'll probably only appreciate it if you play guitar, and try to play his stuff.

yea, harper is really unique. theres not to many musicians that have his sound. plus not to many musicians that have the diversity he has in the music he plays.....from less and ground on down, to glory and consequence, excuse me mr, suzie blue, burn one down, to waiting on the angel.

he has everythign from jazz, to blue, to country, to metal, to classic rock, to raggae, to acoustic stuff. all with his special styl eon them too.

i dont mind him i just dont like him that much. i was supposed to see him with SCI a couple days ago but couldnt go.

where does all the white go when the snow melts?
 
I really enjoy his music, but again, I don't find it that groundbreaking...it's great...and it does transcend a few genres...but while still sounding all similar

 
Ben harper is the fuckin man. If you are any way a fan of his stuff, you need Live from mars. I picked it up the day it hit the shelves and it's way worth the like 17 bucks you put down for it. two cd's equaling about 140 minutes listening time is so good for that much money. he's the king of the slide guitar. I got to see him live on this last tour he's been on, the one with jack johnson and string cheese incident, and he fuckin rocks. Oh yeah, just in case you didn't know, he's the one on the slide guitar in jack johnson's song, Flake.
