Being Sober

I'm 18, and the legal drinking age is 19 here, but I spent the last summer in Alberta, where I was of age and went to bars, etc. Also I do go to university.
 
Ohhhhh that was a good one, well at least we have one thing in common, we both like girls
 
I choose not to drink and its never been an issue so far. I still have plenty of fun when I'm around it/with drunk friends, and most people respect my decision which is pretty awesome. I have nothing against other people drinking, just something I don't do. Sue me, more beer for you!

No. Alcohol makes everything more fun, just like weed makes everything taste better. Plus, living in a ski town makes not drinking literally impossible.

Sinatra said it best: "I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day."
 
false false false false. Just because your an alcohol whore doesn't mean you have to bag on his responsible decision. Iv'e only had one beer my entire life, and I guarantee you I have had a crazy eventful, purpose filled life thus far. Alcohol makes you do stupid shit, but none of it is actually truly fun when you think about it. Its funny, but not fun. Real fun would be skiing or something similar.
 
false false false false. First off don't claim his decision as being "responsible" drinking in no way makes you irresponsible. Drinking irresponsibly doesn't even really make you irresponsible. As long as you don't drive and you don't die you are being perfectly reasonable.

And those things are fun. You are enjoying yourself with your friends and that sounds like fun to me.

One day you will start to drink and you will likely continue to drink. Your mentality changes as you reach different stages of your life.
 
going to parties sober kinda sucks especially if you have to dd your drunk ass friends. and going to parties high.. fuck that

My two cents:

Trying to have fun in a boring, shitty situation like a house party? Drink, becuase standing around for 3-4 hours doing random shit usually isnt too fun sober.

But things that are genuinely fun dont really need to be augmented with alcohol

 
i havent got high or drank in 6 weeks, mostly because of a mean concussion that still hasnt gone away. smoked all day and drank all night before i knocked my head. i hadn't taken a break in years before this, and it feels good to know i can.
 
In germany I went balls to the walls every friday and saturday night at bars, back in the US i just will have a beer at home. parties here just turn into drama filled shit fests
 
How can you say it makes you do stupid shit/it's not fun if you've had 1 beer.. Drinking is fun as fuck, and people don't always do stupid shit while drinking. You're generalizing everyone based on underage children you've seen drinking who drink to get dickered, not to socialize and loosen up.
