Being nice to the enviorment?

My science teacher wants us to think of as many ways we and are family's can do to.....

A) reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases( and listing any benfit that would arise)

B) how we could change our habits to reduce our need for paper and paper products.

A) reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases( and listing any benfit that would arise) dont drive as much, carpool, bike to school/work, take the bus, walk, etc. also use your heating system less (wear a sweatshirt and keep the heat low), eat less meat, eat local foods (less distance to travel before they reach your house, less fuel emissions), buy less, conserve more,
B) how we could change our habits to reduce our need for paper and paper products. read the paper online, at the market, put your food in a bag that you brought, PRINT ALL OF YOUR HW ASSIGNMENTS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE SHEET, YOU CAN USE HALF AS MANY PIECES OF PAPER IF YOU DO THIS, AND ITS REALLY FUCKING EASY,

there are so many ways to do this well man, just search it on google or other sources that are far more reliable, credible and know what they are talking about than newschoolers. do you homework for real man, dont have someone nice like me just give you the answers.

im not even kidding man when i got this assignment i was like " this is going to soooo easy" but i just googled it and i was expecting like a million site's all with great info but for some reason i am not getting good results at all.

there was another question i forgot about too

" Peop;e have been cutting down and burning trees for thousands of years. Suggest some reasons why these practices are becoming more widespread and more of a problem now more than ever."

i mean clear cutting is never good. carbon emissions clog our atmosphere, speed up global warming, etc. without the trees to eat the co2, and throw up oxygen (since they were just cut down) our co2 build up with exponentially increase

dude, you really have to ask NS to help you on this? Just think of the situations that are in that cause CO2 emissions and think how you cut back on partaking in those situations. Same thing goes for the paper....

i had the same assignment back in gr. 10 science. i used the textbook, put down every example in the textbook, and failed. the teacher said i could do things like get a fridge with less of an impact, when we already have a fridge that's economical and shit, and tried to tell me my parents could start driving prius'.

i gave her a piece of my mind.

I'll start with the trees while it's in my mind. The reason for the vast widespread cutting of trees is because not all paper we use and consume is actually being recycled so countries need the new resources to reproduce the lost paper. Along with that our population is growing extremely rapidly (Doesn't apply to North America) in China and almost any country in Asia. By 2050 we're expected to have a world wide population of 8 billion people. The world is thought to be made for 2 billion humans and we already have 6 billion people crammed on the planet. Now imagine a 33% increase in population and all the shit that will be going on by 2050.

Now ways to cut down on emissions- (you'll see a lot of these answers) less driving, buy a more fuel efficient vehicle, ride your bike/walk, use more wind power, nuclear power, solar energy (search these last three individually and you will get great info about it), turn the lights off when you're not using them, same goes for the computer and television. I mean it can't be that hard to think of more.

Recycle your paper, email the paper to your teacher, buy recycled paper, dude I really think you could think of these really easyt instead of having me type another 1000 letters with all the answers. Go to stopglobalwarming.org I think that's one of the websites. That or it's fightglobalwarming.org those websites will have the best info and then individually search for info on their recomended ways to save.

I hate prick teachers. I do my Spanish homework and the teacher knocks points off my score because I did one little part of it incorrectly. While I'm like how the hell was I supposed to know what the fuckin' directions said, they're in Spanish I don't know how to speak. She needs to give me credit for at least trying.

when i was in junior high my social teacher wasn't marking my assignments and just giving me zeros instead (she hated me). i told my principal about it, we went to talk to the teacher, and while we were talking i noticed my latest assignment in her trashcan and pulled it out and more or less flipped shit. the principal fired that bitch two weeks later.

you could like, have a genocide. that would prevent loads of people from contributing to greenhouse gasses

give her this book and you'll get an a:

i would love to but unfortunatly we have to write it ourselves not give them something that has been published

then rent it from the library and write it on the book. it's not just a boring text book. it's actually interesting.

A

push for legislation to stop sprawl, create higher densities in cities(like portland, or), mass transit, proper design of subdivision and new neighborhoods(NO CUL DE SACS). the way neighborhoods are designed since around the 30s have curvilinear streets and cul de sacs with multiple dead ends instead of a straight street grid. These neighborhoods are built for the car, and not for pedestrians. The traditional subdivision with a grid of streets makes walking easier, and doens't force people to use cars, thus encouraging people to walk, both helping to decrease carbon emissions, but also helping to stop obesity.

Also, home design is very important as well. Today every one has cookie cutter hoems that have no solar context whatsoever. Google. AZ solar center and look at some of the diagrams. Houses dont need solar panels, but designing homes with a basic solar context can save millions of dollars(nationwide) in regards to heating and cooling homes. All it takes is putting lots of windows on the south facing sides of buildings to take advantage of the sun and use the sun to heat a building in the winter. There are millions of things that you can design to save money, electricity, and gas. Most of these things like thermal ponds on roofs and trombe walls are perfect for places like colorado with cold, dry, sunny climates. Google az solar center of arizona solar center and look at that stuff. While it may not be something your family alone could do, it is something that needs to be addressed and cookie cutter suburban homes suck.
