I always thought it was funny how they went so out of their way to "be different" and in the end they all just ended up wearing the same clothes in the same colors, listening to similar music, and above all else making themselves ugly. Plus what was their goal? To darken the world? I never heard why.

Not dissing death metal or anything, but their lyrics aren't that incredible. A lot of death metal songs are kinda pretentious and full of faux-angst. And almost every genre of music has better lyrics than mainstream rap.

Good lyrics = Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, underground hiphop
