Now don't get me wrong, but I didn't read the huge amount of comments and their topic range (assuming there is one).
Straight to OP though. I'm a pescetarian (I'll eat seafood, and no, I don't want to get involved into the politics behind it).
Like you, I started when I moved out and went to school. It was a choice I had been thinking of for awhile though. My girlfriend last year was also pescetarian (she ate more raw food though), and it just wore off on me.
I don't drink milk any more, however; I'll still have dairy such as cheese and ice cream. I drink soy milk instead. I don't know why it's called soy milk, it is essentially just plant juice. I'll eat eggs, along with fish and other seafoods. I love my seafood more than any other food actually, and it's been like that even when I did still eat meat.
I buy a lot of fruits and vegetables, it seems to be my staple. Along with carbs such as bread and pasta.
Rice is a good filler too, but I haven't cooked rice since I moved out of res.
The thing about being any kind of vegetarian is managing your supplements such as protein, vitamins and iron. I'm not the best at it, but my health hasn't decreased at all.
Although you're a student, I'd recommend buying some supplements such as protein and all the other things that can be lacking from your diet once you make the switch.
I don't, but I make sure I get enough protein.
I've been a veggie for about 10 months, and I feel much better than I did before. It's not for everyone, and if you are thinking of just doing it because you don't think you can afford meat, you're going to have to be able to balance your budget a lot better. Meat isn't super expensive, you are just going to have to know how to shop.
