Being a thug

I don't relate thug skiing to thug culture anymore. You wouldn't see someone in compton wearing 4 tall tees and orange pants. When i see a white guy wearing a tall tee, i think skier before i think wannabe gangster. Nobodies going up to the mountain with a gun to protect their coke sales...

Isn't the end goal of every thug to get rich or die tryin' though?

So maybe in a way, all thugs really in the end want to be doing something as ludicrously lavish as sliding down snow covered mountains in tens of thousands of dollars of gear.

Maybe, just maybe... we're helping bring the thug where he's supposed to be?

Agreed, but what about when a gaper comes into the park acting thug, and is completely clueless? I get pissed. That's when I think 'thug poser'.

ive agree with OP here i think that once you throw your skis on you kind of change your attitude a little bit i dont think its a bad thing at all. Its good to take a break from the seriousness of life and college and all that shit and be a thug on the hill. The FD video is the best representation of this. rich wihte kids who live that gangster life and dont give a fuck.

i'm the whitest person you'll ever meet.

I wear jackets/hoodies/shirts to my knees when i go skiing. Big deal..people label you because you look different than everybody else. When people who go skiing twice a year(tourists) the last thing they expect to see is some 17 year old with a tall tee on throwing gang sings and blasting wu tang clan out of their headphones. Yea, you look like a goon, but i don't think that changes your attitude at all. If you go skiing and act all hard core and think you own the place you're a fucking douchebag. I ski because it's fun as hell, and just because i'm wearing a tall piece of clothing doesn't mean i act any differently. I don't see what's so "thug" about a teenager with a 6xl t shirt on.

"Charge rails like fucking plastic, and you'll get some credit."

probably the best thing I've ever heard

1) Harlem isn't that bad anymore, so relax2)OP, you sound the opposite of well-cultured, and kind of like an idiot

3) Who cares what you wear. Just don't act like an asshole. STOP JUDGING PEOPLE AS YOU STAND THERE AT THE TOP OF THE PARK WEARING YOUR BLACKOUT TINT GOGGLES!

yes, he isnt, is kidding those who kid, while not being very serious... even though he is, or maybe isnt.

I don't understand what the whole argument is about. Who gives a Fuck what you wear, that doesn't make you a thug or wanna be thug. It's all about your actions, if your an asshole I'm gonna hate on you weather your a kid in 6xl shit of a euro uber carve dad in a bogner jacket and pants that are way too small. Maybe I have a different definition of thug than most people, living all of my life fairly close to Oakland/Richmond, but I don't see kids on the hill beating the shit out of eachother for fun, nobody is getting robbed at gun point, and nobody is getting shot for wearing the wrong colors. I just don't get the thug thing, if you are throwing up gang signs and shit like that, let me drop you off on the corner of MaCarthur and E 14th in Oakland and see how that shit turns out.

The creator of this thread is probably the coolest person in Missouri

This is the post i was looking for. Wearing big clothes certainly doesnt make you 'thug' or 'gangster' by their true definitions. What really pisses me off is when kids accuse skiers who wear baggy clothes as 'thinking they are black'. That's actually racist... and im not jsut saying that because my nickname is black steve. Skiers who wear baggy clothes are doing it because they like the style, not because they are emulating or even idolizing black culture. If anything, they are imitating a style that was originally bred by snowboarders.

I know this is totally beating a dead horse, but after all the years of seeing these worthless posts I need to give my input.

I dont "think i'm black" because i wear baggy clothes. That's analogous to saying "Logan imlach thinks hes Jim Morrison" because he wears tight pants and listens to classic rock and gypsy music. Its ridiculous when you flip the comparisons. Im not picking on you Logan, i just needed an analogy. Im sure tight pants skiers listen hip hop.. i listen to a wide variety of other music other than my favorite artist Waka Flocka.

Summary - clothing style doesnt dictate mindset

imma pimp in every sense of the word the word bitch..... blame it on T-HEED

When I was in high school I listened to rap music...and still do. My parents, as a way to reach out, bought me the soundtrack to Amistad (A movie about a slave ship coming to america) for Christmas. Who is the poser in that situation?

im

this. baggy clothes is a style. its not trying to emulate any particular group

however, im glad the trend is away from wearing bright, oversized polo's. that was something that i hated
