and if you are serious about wanting to know anything about avy's or backcountry, go to www.tetongravity.com

screw you bro all you do is fiddle around with your boats and wrestle when you could be skiing. at least I'm helping.

the toughest thing for me, is making the transition from old school to new, i took 15 years off skiing, i'm 31 now and when i stopped i was 15. In the past 2 season's i've managed to learn to master one thing at a time, first i started skiing switch, throwing 180's off anything i could find, skiing a ton of glades/powder, dropping small cliffs{like 10 ft}, grabbing my ski's cluelessly at first, than i realized the mute was the core of so many moves, so i started throwing just basic mute and japan's in beginner parks, sliding my first rails and boxes. 360's came super easy to me, it was just learning to restyle them by slowing down my spin, crunching my body, etc. cause i used to do 360's when i was a kid alot but those days it was called a helicopter, and spun very upright. At this point i'm just barely clearing full size booters and am kinda scared to try and huck myself and spin off anything too big. I may invest in some light padding to try and take it to the next level.

Nicely tips! There' s just one thing i would like to know about the 360. What is with the the leg- straching when getting of the lip? I see it in every movie... Sorry if my English is bad (Im slovenian :D).

Without the right amount of confidence, none of this is achievable. What are your guys' tips on gaining the juice to get yourself to go big(ger)? Like even starting off on the simplest of tricks. I'm kind of a pussy, so I tend to over think the jump or the rail and never hit it like I would want to. So whats the trick to getting into the right frame of mind and boosting your confidence?

Just envision yourself landing it while hiking to the jump over and over again and don't think about it when you go to hit it. Trust me, when you point the skis down you will be committed.

ok yes im noob, best tricks are backflip and 360. But is there a place where i can find the names of all the tricks. I have no frikin idea what an octo grab is

i just printed this out and put it under my roommate's pillow... perhaps he'll stop skiing like it's 1986

there ARE basic techniques to spinning, rails, and skiing in general though. You can't just go to the extreme end of the spectrum and say "freeskiing is free, therefore you can hit jumps and try 360s any way you want". That just isn't true.

By the way, this is FREE for you all I think it complies with the rules of FREEskiing.

:)
