so im a snowboarder looking to switch over to skiing, Im pretty much an all mountain rider. Im about 5'7, 145lbs. I was looking at the line prophets or some k2's. Just wondering what you think of them or what would be the best way to go and which size would fit me best being a beginner.

if i were you i wouldnt start out with prophets. but i would probably suggest skis that measure up to about your forehead or are as tall as you... and if you are just looking for a a cheap starter ski just look at some of the price point skis from different companies and see what ski best fits you.

Do you want something softer, and good for park - or something a little stiffer so you can use the skis for all-mountain type skiing?

If you want park skis then maybe look at something like Line Invaders, K2 Fujatives (2008) - If you want all mountain gear then maybe the k2 extreme (09), public enemy (08), or the line chronic..

if your just starting skiing you probably won't like want the public enemy- it's heavy and stiff and a lot of work to ski
for poweder+ park, the k2 seth would work well, or if you want to be steezy and go armada, check out the ARV
don't think you can go wrong with either of those

if you think the PE's are hard to ski then why would you suggest the seth? much heavier/stiffer than the PE...

to the creator of the thread i think something like the armada el ray, or line invaders, line anthems, or the k2 fujative/PE would be a good ski for you, considering they are all pretty cheap and are still a good ski..

lolo over 175, stupid. something like 170 max if your starting off. and not too soft, but a forgiving ski, specially if your learning stuff. i would say k2 scilencer or maybe next years extreme, but dunno how that rides. or from line something like the chronic or maybe prophet 90 for more stiffness. chronics rock for all mtn.

i suggested that cause he said he would be doing mostly powder+ trees, and the seths are fatter and more powder oriented. but yeah you're right they're both pretty stiff skis
