so i just bought a guitar and taught myself a few of the basic chords. does anybody know of any easy songs that I could learn? I've tried smoke on the water and free fall, and both were prett easy so something of that caliber would be good. thanks. btw i already used the search bar.

^yup. but you were going to get an acustic right? if you have learned bar chords then try jack johnson-flake nm. actually sublime -rivers of baylon would be easyer.

Yeah definitly jack johnson, any one of his songs. Iron man is really similar to smoke on the water so thats pretty easy too.

try nothing else matters. its not that hard as it sounds at the beginning. try to learn the basic chords like powerchords, the classic ones and barre chords. then learn fingerpicking. its all about practice

Often if you go on the tab sites like guitarepro.com, you can just look up the song you want and it'll be in basic chord structure, instead of tabbed in the special picking or strumming patern (for example Hotel California from the Eagles). So basically you can look up any song YOU like , learn it strummed (the untrained ear will not even notice the difference), and later learn it again when you're better.

You could strum Hotel California, people like that one. Or Time of your Life from Green day is 2 minutes long, EXTREMELY easy and people love it. Same goes for Wonderwall by Oasis.

What kind of guitar did you buy? acoustic or electric? for acoustic you should learn Blackbird by Paul M'cartney. That's what I first learned about 3 years back. For electric just get good at doing power chords. Then you can play any punk song. Seriously they got no talent.

^acoustic. just want to play some chill ass songs when i go on ski trips and am drunk. since i'm a beginner i figure some slower songs would be good.

well if you want an easy acoustin song to learn and if you can sing along with it then try outside by staind. you can win ladies over with that one and its easy
