I am just beginning to freeride and can do some grabs and other strait air tricks but i keep chickening out on the 360 i dont know why, is it somethign you just go and do or what! Any advice would be awsome!

first of all just go for it. if you want an easy way to learn try cutting up the side of a table top, make a little rut that sort of throws you across the hill it is easier to spin off of, make sure you get a nice pop throw your head over your shoulder and dont stop spinning even when you think you are around. and then stomp it once you land one you wont understand what all your wussin out was about!!

Gotta love the midwest

yea dude just go for i was pussying out but i ended up learnig 5's by the end of the day but i also broje my collar bone an am oit for a month damn this sucks

ahhh shitty, i went up to the park today again and i am all confident to do it and i hit the jump and fuckin pussy out and end up doing a 180 landing backwards, i know i know i sound like a little cry baby, i know i have the skill but not the confidence, i dont think there is a reason to be scared, i will try again soon! Hopefully

hey i read your thing for 360's. don't try one at a park jump. that was my biggest problem. instead go to some black and make a tiny jump. no more than a foot high w/ 5 feet of distance. then, before you do it find out which way you spin. wind up so if you spin left which is what i suggest put your left arm over your chest. once you reach the jump throw your arm behind you and have your head follow. once you fall once you'll release it won't hurt and from then on your fine goood luck

'What the hell is this? I ordered a cocktail not a fucking jungle. You could fall in love with an orangatang in there.' Some guy in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels refering to his drink that had a mini umbrella and fruit on top of it.

ya i have been trying it off of a decent sized table and i just get freaked out when i am about to rotate, i stop turning half way and i land fakie, i think that i am going to hit the jump and just turn my head and see what happens!

that was my problem too once, just say, how can i get hurt only going 5 feet in the air...wind up and do it, make sure you get enough air too, thats why you keep doing 180s

.............and that brings us to our next point...dont smoke crack

I just started throwing 3's this year, so I understand what you're going through. Once I really went for it, I stomped it first try. But now, I keep crashing!

Every time now, I rotate, see the landing and realize I'm WAY to far back in the air to possibly land on my feet.

I think that I need to just concentrate on popping off the lip and turning my head to bring me around to spot the landing.

Anyone got any tips?

for a beginner, you can't just throw yourself into a spin. i can, but only because the motion is one with my 'pop'. you have to go into the jump relaxed, crouched a little, and on the balls of your feet (def not leaning back - at all!)...then as you go off the lip, spring up with your hips and turn your head. when you come around from the rotation have your poles in front of you so that you can throw them down for a 4 point landing (double plant ur poles on the landing). this will keep you from landing back seat.

and furthermore, i agree with learning on a black with a little kicker over a tabletop at first. but if you are comfortable on tables and can do 180 and land, maybe it's ok to learn there.

one more thing, if u fall, get the fuck back up and hike that shit. get pissed and stomp it.

*all hail to the mighty gods of snow*

yeah listen to snowmaster, he knows what hes talkin about, and if you cant get your 360s down try 180s until your good at them and then maybe the extra 180 degrees wont seems so bad

hey thanks for all the advice, i think that i will stick to the 180's for a bit and get the head turning thing down and when i am comfortable with that i will move to the 3s.
