This is probably one of the best intros ive seen. i havent seen it in awhile i just cauht it on HBO. its so epic. i love this movie, to bad i have an AP exam in an hour. FUCK MY LIFE

first of all, i like it too, and the part where he is putting the sand/dirt in his hands was often subject of parodies by myself. i did it infront of the tour eiffel in paris, at the hradschin in prag. like before we entered the building/museum or whatever with our school class i ran infront, settled down and "felt the earth". it really gets you going and connects you to the nature... i wont lie...

no, the movies good, but over here its impossible to watch an american film since 911 (related to war, fighting, heroism, and all that stuff) without people saying stuff like "fucked up american propaganda movie to get the war on iraq going". it was the same with "from lions and lambs", "pearl harbour", of course gladiator and 50% of the american movies i can think of since 911.

You can't say that movie wasn't insanely epic the first time you saw it in IMAX. Maybe it was the weeda, but it was still fuckin' cool.

no, theres something wrong, i meant when people watched it after 911, they think that this kind of heroism, finding a honorable death and a lot of other elements in the movie could translate to the situation of a country which is sending troops to somewhere.

its not that I THINK LIKE THAT, its just a observation i made. i personally (as an amateur film producer, also beside skiing movies) think that all these elements help to make an emotional film and i dont think that film producers tend to make movies to glorify war and dying soldiers.

and yes, 300 was one of the main movies in these discussions, cant believe it didnt come to my mind :)
