Before you learn how to switch up on a rail, should you learn to slide rails both ways?

how to switchup on a rail:

do swaps on boxesdo swaps on pvc

do swaps on rails

get pussy

profit

as you can see learning to slide rails unnatty is not a mandatory part of the process

not necessary. i thought about it and decided it wasn't worth the time, but im fine now. just if you don't learn unnatty first remember to lean forward

haha i learned 270 ons on boxes before anything else really, including siding unatural. In someways its still easier to slide unnatural for me if i do a 270 or come on switch, i dunno why but it just is

I think its because that's the side people come on from for their regular foot, most people I know including myself do this

Yeah, most people will find front 2 easier than a front swap, b/c the set-up for both tricks is the same, but front 2 you have more time to set your spin.

dont bother.

you'll switch up, you'll slide out, you'll do it again, you'll land it just fine.

I learned how to 2 on before I was comfortable just sliding rails unnaturally.

Learned to side unnatural through 2s on and swaps, still hate hitting things from the other side when sliding unnatural

you don't really need to but I guess it could help. I would just go straight to switch ups if I was you.
