Beer vs. Energy Drinks

Alright so here's an odd post coming. Ok so you're hiking your favorite backcountry ridge or just chillin in the park. All that you want is an ice-cold beverage. Which do you grab for? A beer or an energy drink? Which is worse for you? What's your fave beer/energy drink while out on the mountain?

Well if I want an ice cold beverage I'm going to want something to quench my thirst, not beer or an energy drink. But if those are the only choices, it would depend on my mood. I would probably go for the beer if it was really cold.

your stupidity and lack of knowledge of drugs make you look like a dumbass.

but water who the fuck drinks while skiing least hydrating thing you can drink

Beer is for after I am done the day hiking. Energy drinks are for never but I'd still drink them over a beer if I was hiking.

If I am cruising around the tall cans of guinness seem to hit the spot, otherwise if I am shredding then water for sure, gotta stay hydrated. coffee to start the day, but before you put your long underwear and bottom layer and ski pants on cause if you have to shit its a bitch.

Coors light tall boys are amazing when your chillin in the back country away from the trails. It tastes better and goes down smoother the colder it gets out. I dont really drink alcohol on the mountain though, but I do drink redbull on park rat days. Its one of the best tasting drinks out there in my opinion, I just wish it wasn't so damn expensive.

I have these ski poles that have a cap at the top of the handle and each one holds 10 ounces of liquor. Makes for great lift line conversation.

"Hey pretty lady, would you enjoy an alcoholic beverage?"

"Of course you handsome young steezey fellow, but we aren't at the lodge"

Hands her ski pole with cap unscrewed

"Goodness gracious, my libido is skyrocketing from your clever ski equipment, and the alcohol you are supplying me with is only serving to accelerate my arousal, would you perhaps be interested in receiving felatio on the ride to the top?"

"That sounds exquisite"

All thanks to my ski pole flasks

I love red bull on ice with cranberry juice, but during a hike I'd drink water. Beer comes after the hike :)

I once rode up a lift with like a 65+ year old guy. he asks us (i think it was 4 singles together on the lift) if we minded him having some liquid courage, we were like nope!, then BAM, unscrews his pole and takes a swig. So cool.

But I love me some red bull, but only when I need energy to drive somewhere or just energy in general. I'd choose gatorade for an after hike drink of choice

after a long day on the slopes nothing is better than sitting down with an ice cold beer and kicking off your boots. i cant imagine myself doing that with a red bull or anything else

you realize a jager bomb has nothing to do with beer..?

and i'd go beer alll dayyyyy or some peppermint schnapps. tastes like christmas and it warms you up! perfect shred drink

At my home mountain I usually have a six pack of nice beer that I bring and keep in the car just to keep the buzz going and have a nice drink break every 2 hours. my place is open till 2 am, so you have to have something to keep you awake ha.

Also energy drinks=death

And if you have a couple beers (2-3) a week it is actually healthy for you.

Beer>energy drink

beer for days... it does not dehydrate you like a energy drink would. and all that processed sugar. beer is quite basic. and IMO tastes better.

now there is a fine line. you have a 12 pack of beer before you go out. you will be drunk and pissing every five min. one or two.. not bad. i start my ski day off with a good beer.

but then again. i drink a lot of water all the time to stay hydrate

pretty much energy drinks are fucking terrible for you. even thought rockstar tastes good. its bad as fuck. and yes i had a my phases then one day i stopped drinking them.

energy drinks for me. love the shit.

but i'd rather have beer.

energy drinks are more expensive, and worse for you

so beer

If it were a nice spring day I would grab a beer.
If it were a snowy pow day I would grab an energy drink (or source of hydration)

Drink half an energy drink on the drive up to make sure you stay awake.

Pound beers during the day.

Drink the other half of the energy drink on the way home to make sure you stay awake.
