Beer pong debate

touching...I ahve never played without them touching...and also Honecomb is one of the best formations ever if you have 7 cups.....booyah

touching mos def.

and im looking at everyones replys and dont see REDEMPTION!

that is a key part of the game.

Here are our house rules:

Setup: Cups shall initially be stacked in a 10 or 15 cup pyramid; the final row must be touching the edge of the table and the lead cup must be centered. Cups shall be touching, with no spaces between. If at any time spaces appear, the shooting team may call for an adjustment so that the rack is less sloppy. One member of each team lines up and shoots at the others rack at the same time to start the game (misses or ties = other team members shoot until a side prevails).

Reracks: Each team receives a total of two reracks. A rerack must be called before the shooting team shoots a ball, and the shooting team can request any formation they wish, provided the furthest cup remains touching the edge of the table.

Shooting:

- If the team sinks both balls in different cups, the cups are removed and the shooting team gets to shoot again.

-If the team sinks both balls in the same cup, the balls are returned and the drinking team must remove the cup and two other cups of their choice.

-If the ball strikes the surface of the table and lands in a cup in play, the cup is removed and two other cups of the drinking teams choice are removed after the round is over.

-NBA LIVE RULES: If you sink two in a row, you are "heatin up". I you sink three in a row, you are "on fire" and continue shooting until you miss. The count is how many shots you sink in a row, regardless of how your partner shoots.

-If a ball at any time lands in a side beer, the team to which that side beer belongs immediately loses.

-If a ball is bounced into a cup that already contains a ball, then the drinking team immediately loses.

Other conditions:

-No blowing or fingering balls that are rimming around cups.

-If a ball touches the table on a shot, it may be swatted away.

GONZAGA RULES:

Same as above, but each player gets a initial stack of 10 cups. You drink from your stack. No reracks until its down to 10 cups, and then the normal 1 pyramid is assumed, and normal play resumes.

we play touching at my school. 1 re rack for 6 cup, 2 racks for 10 cup theres a bunch of other rules too but thats the basics

does anyone know about being "on fire"

i think its for playing with partners.

but it could be played with singles.

but if one player makes 3 in a row per series in their turn

they get a free shot.

given the ball back after the 3rd shot in a row.

on fires when you make a cup then the next turn you make another cup and the next turn you make another has to be three in a row. after you make the second shot you must call "heating up" and when you make the third one you are "on fire" and can shoot until you miss

anybody ever play some people that are just unbeatable?

two of my friends, when they team up, you just physically cannot win.

they have a record of like 46-0.

i played them, and they just brought it back 5 times in a row and won.

i was in shock.

oh yeah. the really old game right? where, if i remember correctly, it was 2v2 and they jump big time in the air?

Word, those are our rules exactly, except only two cups on a bounce. People at Woodloch like stupid-ass six cup and they don't count bounces, I barely even play any more.

No really though its actually called beruit. Its the technical name and has been generalized to beer pong. Watch Beerfest and you will see. Beer pong is used with a paddle. Not trying to be a dick but that is actually the real name spite what other people call it.

fuck. i had the worst luck tonight. or this mourning i should say.

first game. both my opponents shot the ball in the same cup first series. automatic win.

and then my partner spilled over a cup by knocking it over. automatic lose.

fuck. 0 and 2.

im pissed:(

Hahahaha. Touching 10 cup with 2 reracks is standard man, that's how I've always played. The gentleman's is legit if two teams are going at it with one cup each and neither can make it.

last cup rack is standard, but im a east coaster, well was. we play 6 cup. i assumed that's what he was talkin about. i play 10 now and still 1 rack, but that's how we roll ha.

If the ball comes back to you after you shoot it without touching the ground, then you're allowed to take another shot but behind your back. If you make the shot they pull the cup and you shoot behind your back again until you miss. If someone makes the last cup on a gentleman shot then its game over.

touching hands down. Games always take a long time anyway and its always too long a wait to get in after you signed up, and not touching would make the game way too long

Since everyone here thinks the game is just a way to get drunk fast, here are some alternate rules you might be interested in:

Rule #1. Drink

And that's about it.

Seriously, drinking games just seem so high school to me.
