Beer Keg Rental

Ok, this is getting a bit irritating... I've been looking for a place ot rent a keg for a party, and I can't find one. Ideas? Or is it even possible to rent them in Canada? I would assume so seeing as colleges manage it, but I don't know where they get them.

dude you can buy them from Granvill Island Breweries, or just go to any BCL and get one. You have to order ahead of time from BCL though. Me and some buddies used to do it every Sunday...

I spin more rhymes than a lazy susan...

is it that hard to find a brewery in canda? i thought you guys lived on beer in the great north?

There are plenty of breweries around, but a lot of them don't bottle their beer. Granville Island does though.

if you are looking for the cheap stuff, look up the major brewing companies ie coors or budweiser and find out where their distrubtion places closest to you are. depending if they are close enough, you should head they and they will have the largest keg selection of brand name beers and imports and microbrews that they distribute. also ask them about dock sells which is where they try to get rid of extra inventory and really really really really cheap prices. for example we used to by 30 cases and only spend $150 total, yep thats 5 bucks a case for all their brand name beers. also they sometimes sell kegs at super cheap such as we used to buy kegs of sierra nevada pale ale at $20 a keg!

Heh, there's a gigantic molson brewery pretty nearby, but I don't know if they'd like me walking in and trying to get a keg off them.

most liquor stores rent kegs here......so do all the breweries. but i guess that doesn't help your situation too much

In my experience, getting a keg in BC is much harder than in Ontario, where you can walk into any 'Beer Store' and either order easily, or sometimes get one on the spot. That being said, you should be able to walk into pretty much any BCL and ask the guys how to get one. I think it's 'order a few days in advance, then bring the empty keg back to get your deposit'.

PS: Don't be the idiots who get a keg but don't have a pump for it. That's a disaster.

go to like a BEVERAGE CENTER...a place that deals in wine/liquor/beer...those are the only places in vt that really rent kegs unless u go to the distributor

As jibthis pointed out, I'm in BC, not the US. It's not always too easy. But I'll find out, and yeah i'll have a pump hahaha... I'm not that dumb.

go to the BEER STORE, in my town you can rent kegs from the BEER STORE, it seems like the place to get beer now adays........

RS4LIFE: The liquor market is set up differently in BC. There is only 1 store that sells booze, that being BCL(British Columbia Liquors). Think LCBO and Beer Store put together, but with a shittier selection than either. They also have cold beer and wine stores, but those are private and have ridiculous prices.

I will repeat: I'm sure BCL will be able to order whatever you want. FYI: Beers like Heineken and Stella Artois are available, but the kegs aren't as big as the Canadian stuff, and are more expensive.

They should create an internet Keg orderin company where u dont even have to leave ur house i would use it! It could be like those water jug companies once a week they come pick up you empties and leave new ones@!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. 'She hates guys,' Pete lamented, 'so it’s not going good.' Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.
 
I live in Alberta, and I can just walk into my local beer store and get a keg. If they don't have one in they can order one. I just got a normal full sized one for $187 I think and then there was an $80 deposit that I get back when I take the keg back. That holds like 180 beer or something like that so its pretty cheep. and its a good way to make money if you can organize a party and charge $10 a cup.
