Beaver Park

Park today = $$$ It was awesome! more jumps would be nice, and those rails off to the side on Harry's should get set up, but Marges was good news. Today was a party, huge group throwing down!

ya the park up at marges is pretty sick although i wish there were more jumps. but i'm just glad they have something up though. they have a lot of rails that were set up pretty good too.

sorry change of subject here,
can anyone tell me how much does night skiing usually cost at the beav? and what days usually do they run night skiing. also, why is the park not available at nights?

i think it is usually ten dollars but not sure, and your season pass doesn't include night skiing, i have no idea what nights its on but if you look at www.skithebeav.com im sure you could find out, and they dont have a park up for nigh skiing because to get to the park you have to take a lift and they only have little beaver lit up which is the begginers lift, so unless your just trying to learn to ski/board its probably not worth it.

ah thanks for the help sir! I did check the site before i posted here and it was not helpful. I have heard rumors that it cost around 10-15 but wanted to clarify.

Im going up tomorro. i havnt been up for almost 2 weeks now. hopefully im not fired haha. cant wait to see what the other guys have done with the park

just to add a bit, they don't do normal night ski days, different groups rent it out (church wards, youth groups ect) and then they have a few public days, normally on saturday, but its not a regular schedule really. It cost 10 to go up with your group. But really any group would be happy to have you ski with them so just find out whose scheduled when.

said before, but only little beav is open at night (wish it was a park) so there isn't much to ride. still fun tho

yo im coming up to beaver soon.not sure when yet though. whats the conditions of the park right now?im ready to hit beav's sick jibs!

ya definetly let me know when you come up. right now there is a step up in the park but it is closed off until we get more snow. then there is the rainbow C rail. a down shotgun rail that is like ten to fifteen feet long. then a twenty foot flat box. Then the a frame box or the C box. and then the up flat box. so its decent but not comparible to any of the resorts down there im sure.

yo did you guys hear about the skier that broke his back at Beaver this last saturday? 1/23/10he was trying a backflip and caught his tips.

o shoot. was it in the park or a jump that some1 had built?

Update: The other park guy just got fired so as of now its me and the cat driver (which i havnt seen in 3 weeks). I can only work on weekends because of school. so i apologize for a shitty weekday park but i will try and make sure its legit for the weekends. Also we got like a million inches of snow so we should be able to build in the next week or so. No one cares about the park tho so sorry if i cant do much

wow i cannot believe he broke his back, i saw it happen and it just looked like under roated a backflip. plus it was in two feet of powder... dont get that it didn't look like a bad crash at all, i guess he was in the freestyle class they started that day i hope they don't stop doing it because of that. and it was the jump at the top of harrys

i was last there on thursday and the landing had been filled in by the cat so they are good to go. The lips tho, are at the right angle but the transition is pretty sharp. I left a note for the cat driver to make the transition more gradual. hopefully they did.

im talking about the jump the kid broke his back on.

it wasnt in the park. and the pow was tracked out

So i finally made it to the park today and the jumps are soo smooth. you guys are doing really good with the park this year, but a i have a couple of suggestions, first make the jumps a little more lippy, right now you come in right over the knuckle, you can make it to the landing and everything but if you tried a cork or rodeo you nose would catch. also i think it would be awesome to build kind of a block or roller type of things so people can get an idea of where to drop from. i watched some people hit it today and they are clueless about speed.

I was there, fun day! but snow conditions weren't best. Still fun though, rail set up was pretty good, and im glad they have the jumps they do.

one thing there is that 'jump' after the first two, before the rail set up, something has to happen there, so far you pretty much have a landing, with a lip that isn't in the right place and not big enough, i didn't even know what to do with that little guy.

neither do i. one of the lifties that works in the park sometimes built it after drinking a 5th of whiskey. i would tear it down but 1. i get yelled at everytime i tear apart his "features" and 2. i no longer work at beaver :( sorry guys. hope the park stays together. im sure it will

super fun! saturday and monday were great! jumps are a little tracked, but i think thats just cause of so many people, 3rd jump is so fun! nice a poppy! rails are good too, im glad that box got moved up, so you can hit that and not have to hike to get to the A frame.

one question, there is a random 'jump' at the end of the park, to the right of the up down, im wondering if the dragon is going to go there, or what, cause there isn't anything set up, and its just a random little 'jump' . oh and another thing, anyone know where those blue tube rails are? they had them out earlier and now they are gone, i like those things and they are super easy to set up, just sink them in, so those should get up if they can!

I've been skiing the beav since i was 8, and i've been hitting the park since i was ten. In all that time, the park has only been really legit like, three years. The jibs there are ok, but the configuration of the rails make it difficult to hit more than two on your way through the run. Also, the first two jumps at the beginning of the park are...well, they could use some help. I would suggest a more level lip to make it easier to get a decent pop. And maybe it's just me, but it's always seemed like the second jump is so close to the first that I cant get any speed. Maybe, if there's room, start the first jump higher up.

Hey, i dont mean to but cut in on your conversation, but i't just no everyday i see other high schoolers from the valley on NS. I go to logan.

The funny thing about the jumps. The geniuses who run beaver decided it would be a good idea to use dirt mounds for the base structure of the jumps. Problem is some retard just went up there and dumped the dirt in 2 random spots. My personal opinion is they are wayy too close and in the complete wrong spot. Beaver will never have good jumps. The rail setups can get crazy but no1 is motivated up there. Except for whiskey man...
