Beaver Park

Alrite so i just got on the park crew at beaver mountain. Counting me and the Cat driver that make 3 guys to design, build, and maintain a park. I have never skied the beav before so i have no idea what they have done in the past. i have kinda learned that they have no idea how to make jumps but the jibbing isnt bad. I DO know that they do not have a lot of rails and there is no snow making so it hard to build a legit park or even kinda ok park. So my idea is to get as creative as possible with what we have and maybe take the smaller jump route rather than having crappy bigger jumps. Any and all input would be great: ideas for building, what they have done wrong in the past ( actual details not "beaver sucks they dont do anything rite"), What they have done rite, then once we get going: what we are doing right/wrong. I hope to make the beaver park better than its ever been and hopefully anyone who has skied the beav will help me in doing so.

Typically, thepark consists of two jumps at the beginning and the rest of the run has rails dispersedthroughout. The park really isn’t horriblewhen you take into consideration the park crew really has no resources to work with. For the jumps, I realize that you haveto start small because there is no snow. However, I think you should space out the jumps a little more than youusually do that way when more snowfall comes, you can use it to build themup. If that is not a possibility, then Iwould agree that having a smaller jump route of 3-4 jumps would be a lot betterthan a few larger crappy ones. The jibsare usually pretty well maintained, and I don’t really have a problem withthem, but if it is at all possible to get more, that would be awesome.

Like you were saying just try to be really creative with jibs, and bonks and that sort of thing. I've always enjoyed Beavers jibs. For your jumps just make sure that its well maintained and well built because that will make up for the size.

Wow im stoked to have some more people on the park crew. I ski the beav whenever i can, im glad there is someone there concerned with park! Its not too bad by the end of the season, but i wish more got set up sooner, and i know there isn't much snow yet, but still rails don't take much snow to get on at all. So even if jumps aren't an option yet, id love to see some box/rail setups. As far as jumps, i think more small ones is a good idea, and more space apart, i hated last year when id try something on the first, then crash, and you cant hit the next with any speed. Doing that you only get one jump in the whole run, thats not very good. If you could space them out a bit, and more would be awesome. Keep up the good work! SkitheBeav!

Ps - thanks for the one box today... better than nothing.

in the past, beav park crew have not done a good job on keeping up with making sure everything is getting fixed up. they would always wait til the end of the day to fix lips, ect, so a lot of people would get hurt and it sucks to have to wait til the end of the day when you are tired. ive always wished they would put in a jump at the very bottom of the run where it starts to get steeper. in the middle of the run there is a place where you could build a step up (if your riding down, its on the left side) thatd be pretty rad. i think anything you do will help a bunch. im excited to see what happens this year. good luck.

I hate the super long wait in the middle from the jumps to the rails, you guys could throw a rail or jump in the long section between the two, and not just like a hill that eventually kind of turns into a table top, a real jump or something to keep people more disperssed instead of all at the jumps, or all at the rails.

we were talking about that today. it would be perfect for a step down.

On the rodeo park at Marges we put up the tall C rail thingy and the up to down gap box is up also, no gap tho keepin it mello rite now.

i put a barrel jib at the top of the second jump today and put somewhat of a lip next to it and up it. it is most likely going to fall off. the snow is like sugar rite now and i ran out of salt. tell me what you think and keep throwing opinions and suggestions out.

beaver's jibs have been pretty dope in the past.i know that beaver usually does the big air.but you should also see if they could have one or two rail jams as well!

Nah haha, that wasn't me, adn you weren't being a jerk, I looked pretty stupid because I always pus out before the jump and slow down, I am ok at boxs/rails but I just get so scared of jumps haha.

it all just depends on the snow. if we get like a foot i could see a good jump being built but rite now my cat driver wont even get in his cat haha

ya i have noticed the second jump is actually pretty good for flips except it is kind of decieving it looks like you dont have enough speed i think if you drop about 25 or 30 feet after the first jump the speed is just about perfect. I think it would be really nice if you could get the T box and the red box up and set them up like a flat down could probably do that by the up down gap box. also would be nice if you could get the flat down rail setup.

hey bro be sure to let me now when beaver's park is beyond sick.

i want to come hit up the mountain but i need to be sure to get my moneys worth

yeah dude its massive.

i meant left thought.

when you get off go left and traverse across for awhile.

then ski down to it.

i know this kid who's dad has hit it before.

and ive seen huge craters at the bottom from people bombing off it

thats sick bro! i love that jump at ego, so nice, but i sure wouldn't try a double off it, is it bigger than it has been?

Oh and the A frame and high blue box, and the long flat that has been chillin at the bottom of marges for a week now, yep those should get set up!

Hey im glad to see some interest in this thread. didn't know there were other NS'ers that ski the beav that much! We should have a party, get some runs in!

ya dude i was really suprised anybody from beaver had heard of ns, im also going to try to spread the word about it. but ya the jump on ego is alot bigger! it is about 10 feet wide which i love, and about 8 feet tall, but it is a step down so you dont go as big as you would if the jump was on flat and landing on down. but i need to build a lip to it if im going to do a double again there was absolutly no lip but it didn't hurt at all thats the good thing about it. ya there are a couple of jibs i would really really like to see at beaver, two of the long boxes and set them up as a flat down, or even better get three and set up a kink preferably down flat down. and also another box set up on flat with a really steep landing so it can kind of be used as a canon box, preferably somewere were you can get speed. oh wait actually on the second roller would be really cool, and just set it up like a cannon box except it wouldn't be sticking out of the ground.

ya so i heard when you get enough snow for a landing on the second roller you were putting the directive rail up. i think you guys should really put a box up to, there is plenty of room and the box would get used alot more

make it a flat box with a deep landing so you can floaty 450 out and stuff.

or throw a really dope 630 out. maybe even flips and stuff
