Fairygirl: Why must you be so damn good looking? Why?? lol

nipe: Thats right Diabhal, because we're skiers

Definetly keep the 4-runner, it's worth the money for a new gearbox. As to what I drive, a 2000 4-runner Limited.

jesus, be glad your parents GAVE you a car...

9 years old? So its what, a 93? My God, I drive a 94, and its nicer than a lot of brand new cars, don't complain about it being (OMFG) 9 Years old.

Sure, I coulda stayed.

I coulda been king.

But in my own way, I am king.

Hail to the king, baby!

haha, well think of it this way. Since your parents GAVE YOU a car, you probably saved a few thousand dollars from not buying yourself one. So spend the few hundred - thousand bucks to fix up the 4Runner. Those are sick, even the old ones! And they are so reliable. Get it Fixed. You wouldnt get anything for it if you tried to sell it with this economy.

lol no i saw the car thread and i felt bad so i searched beat up old car, and i still felt bad but i posted nayways.

thats embarrasing

this thread needs to die, but i just have one comment. what the fuck is with parents buying their kids cars when they turn 16, or 17 or whatever? I mean shit, our generation has no sense of money or appreciation for anything. its just rediculous. whatever happened to working your ass off then appreciating the vehicle that you buy? No wonder there are so many crashes, yes crashes, not "accidents" with young drivers, they just dont care if its not their money on the line. And i love the typical, "my parents MAKE me pay for my own gas," story. big fuckin deal.

enough of my rant, just thought i would throw that out there.

dude...that's fuckin tight. 9 years old is only 1998, why are you complaining? That's still in the era of new/modern technology cars. It's not like it's old or something...and it's a fucking M A N U A L .......don't ever buy a car that isn't or your a huge pussy

A tranny for that car costs what, like 400?? Put that shit in yourself, it's hella easy

Because times have changed since the "earn your car" era. Most kids work so they can afford to go to college, not so they can buy a car. Everyone is on the move now a days and so parents can't always drive their kids wherever they want to go. Some kids have to work and need a way to get there. Others have to drive to school (yes, HAVE to, the bus wasn't an option for me.)

My girlfriends family shares 2 vehicles between 3 people (her brother drives a stick and no one else can, plus he needs it throughout the day as well). They always have to arrange to have someone drop her mom off at work while my gf has to go to school (community college, so lots of driving back and forth) and her dad is going to work. Then they have to arrange for someone to pick her mom up from work. It's a pain in the ass.
