Beat Making

I recently bought a AKIA Pro MPK mini.

I was wondering if anyone out there could suggest a program to make beats in that is easy to use for a beginner

Also let me know some things that helped you out when you first started making music, because i am kinda unsure at the moment exactly what to do.

Get ableton, look up some tutorials, and acquire copious amounts of samples and a few good VST's. Also check out the DAWs cult and pm me if you need any help, my soundcloud is in my sig.

Nothing wrong with FL and its super easy to use.

Overall though, find a piece of software and stick with it. Don't torrent Ableton and FL and Cubase and then use them all for different things. You only need one. Pick it, and learn it.

The MPK mini will probably work well in conjunction with ableton.

Also, if you want more help we need more info - what kind of stuff do you want to do? Whats your musical background? Do you know any theory?

I have used about every mainstream DAW out there.

FL Studio for sure. Learn to play around on that. DON'T JUMP into Abelton unless you have experience.
