yo is this a sick place to ski? i like watching the video edits they put out from time to time and it looks like they have a lot of innovative features but i mostly just see a lot of boarders. i'm just wondering if its friendly to skiers, and if there is anything to ski other than the jibs, and what about the jumps, i bet they build some pretty decent ones from time to time. lastly, is it really 50 and sunny every day?

I've never been there, but they have some sick jumps as Iv seen in ski and snowboard vids. They ENTIRE mountain is a giant terrain park, I am trying get there asap next season to rip it up.

i was pretty stoked the first few times i went but i went a couple months ago and the local boarders were just a bunch of grouchy men that talked shit and spent more time getting their wardrobe nice then ridin. the jumps were pretty half ass when i was there this year too. the rails are incredible though. mammoths iller

Bear is my home mountain. It's really a great place to ski for being a so cali mtn. We had a pretty decent winter this yeah which left some good snowfall. The mtn is broken into two parts. The left side has open runs and some decent groomers. But the right side is pretty much a giant park. There's jibs and jumps from the top to the bottom. Halfway down it splits and both sides have decent set ups. This year they had a few 40ish footers that were pretty smooth. The triple line they built off of chair 5 was pretty smooth....they used that set up for the Big Bear Open and GVR comps. Plus at the bottom they have the scene with some jibs set up to the front of the Beach Bar.

It is So. Cali so it's mostly snowboarders....but you'll get groups of freeskiers throwing down and most of them are pretty good.....so we are representin right. I've never had any issues with snowboarders or seen any problems. As far as the weather, It's not sunny everyday but when it's out and not windy you can usually ride in a hoodie. In march I was riding in a T-shirt and no gloves it was so hot.

So overall....it's a fun mtn. I split my time between there and Mt. High. But I plan on moving out of so cali in a few years for better skiing.

hope this helps

sounds like a sick place to visit considering i'm more into jibbing than jumping but i like to hit some good jumps when its nice out so i'm just lookin around. thanks and + karma^

they have 4 jumps and about 20000 jibs.

its neat and the non park part of the mountain is pretty ok.

I went in February, right after they got like 2 feet, and there is some sick shit there when it dumps. good days.

Mt High is also close by.....that place has jibs galore. Go to Mthigh.com and look at the video section. will give you a good idea

i was there in march and it was the most fun i had all year.. they have a real big jump and a bunch of other sick smaller jumps.. trhey also have a lot of sick rails and they arent all they same, there is a lot of variety, you can also pick a bunch of different lines to ride... the jibs are sick too though because they are set up so skiers can hit them too, but most oof all, there are so many babes there.. for real

Me and 2 buddies went to bear for 4 days about a year ago for spring break and had a BLAST. Its such a fun time up there. The entire montain is a giant park and down at the bottom they have this area called the scene where the have 5 or 6 jibs set up that you just hike and chill. Its a super fun place but be ware its like 98% snowboarders and not many skiiers. Its all good tho cuase everyones super chill and theres always people there throwing down.

Def worth it to make a trip there.
