yaa soo i'm a pretty good diver i guess you could say, and i pretty average skier, i can 3 with grabs, rails, boxes..but anyways i have been diving for most of my life, i can reverse double (chich would be a double backflip on skis) and can do a few off-axis spins and shit..i've been thinkin about just reahin down, grabbin muh balls and straight up goin for a backflip straight outta the gate this winter..what do you all think about backflips?..so far i personal opinion is that its all about balls, anyone can do it if they're down to try it...what do you all think??

been discussed alot

check the other threads for advice or whatnot

but yea...its like 80% balls 20% skill

just sack up, pop, throw your hips and your upper body back and hope for the best...

ya that'd be soo tight though to just be able to go huuge on a backflipp like its nothing..not to mention you could just work your way up from there to dooin a bunch of shitt

I know you will stomp it. just commit, you have good air sense.

backflips are 80% balls/commitment and 20% skill. backflips are easier then a 360, just not as risky.

basically backflips are super easy especially for you because you have experience being inverted. you shouldn't have a problem.

go for it, just be sure to hit the jump one time first so you know you'l get enough air to get the whole wa round. I saw a guy try and judge it one time and he only had time to go half way round.

diving is graeat training for jumping on skis, most all o the motions are really similar, so just come into the jump and pretened your on a diving board, and i'm sure you'll stick it first try

pop, bring knees to chest and tuck for your first few to make sure you can get around, once comfortable then you can lay them out and fool around with them. Fun to do scary to learn

and don't forget to claim when you land it. 1st backflip is one of the few oppurtunities you'll ever get to a legitimate claim. its actually encouraged where i'm from. seriously, go nuts.

you seem super confident if you commit to it id say you definately will get it around to your skis,, just try and spot your landing and dont throw it TO HARD

just go for it dude. make sure you have a bunch of friends there so that if your starting to puss out they say something like "no balls" it actually really helps. but for real, if your gunna go for it, you have to commit fully cuz thats whn people start getting hurt.

Diving is different than skiing for sure, the throwing is different, especially for reverses. I would suggest you try some regular backflips off of the diving board and just try doing some fast ones and then laying some out. Then take it to the snow. Build a relatively small jump, and just huck it your first time. It takes a couple times to get the timing down, but it's a faster learning curve for us divers since we know how to control our flip speed.

lol you'll have them down so easily...they really are easier than 3's. Just do it with soft snow you'll be fine...

First you probably shouldn't over think it this much saying that a backflip is going big, just go in some pow build a little jump and sesh it. I think you are over hyping which wont be a good thing when you want to do it if you are making it seem harder than it is to urself.

ya bro, i agree it's a little diffferent, but then again i was doing back 1.5 off 1 meter spring board (low board) in tuck and layout, so im not even worried about it..ill backflip for sure..

i landed one today for the first time first try off a mound of snow from a snow gun. if you can do them on trampolines you can do them on skis. it wasnt hard at all its just scary as fuck
