Be glad we're not on concrete...

our jumps are 60ft, theirs are 6.... and would the DIN setting pretty much be concrete for your knees if you set it too high? it could be worse with the torsion forces.
but in the end, landing on your ass or jamming your face into the concrete is way worse than snow.

not even close to comparable, we have perfectly groomed takeoffs and landings to match. they have flat concrete and are not attached to their boards. skating is 100x gnarlier (and harder) than most action sports.

^ agreed. Skateboarding is definitely the gnarliest.

I recommend watching all the b-sides of stay gold, shows how hard each skater got beat up for their parts.

Jerry Hsu basically skated his whole part switch because his left knee was too weak from multiple surgeries, thats dedication.

I love how Westgate hauls ass into his tricks, makes them look so much better than kids who do something then practically stop when they land

It's like that because if we didn't have those landings we would be oh to similar to scrambled eggs.

I do have respect for skaters though, I blade and skate and both are more painful than skiing and I'm not very good at either.

i think this every time i crash on concrete, snow is so nice, but then when i slam on some super icy jump, i dont say to myself how nice snow it haha

Skating is way gnarlier in that way, but i think you can get permanently injured easier skiing.

For example breaking your neck.

I skateboard but I'm not good. My friends throw down so hard and whenever it looks like they're hurt they're fine. It's crazy. One time my friend was screaming in pain from a fall but 5 minutes later was trying the same trick.

oh yeah forgot to post figueroa's b-side. some rough slams.

that was insane! one of the most enjoyable skate videos i have seen in a while 3:05 was probably my fav

all action sports have tricks that are hard and ones that are easy. I dont believe any action sport is harder than another because there is always progression.

i was just thinking that injuries i've gotten skiing, if i had those same falls on concrete i would be fucked. that edit was ridiculous too
