BC skiers vs Park skiers = bullsh*t

haha i keep reading these threads about kids hating bc or hating park, well NS, kids are about to start throwing down so hard in bc, with all the progression in the park, it will start overflowing into the bc because thats the only place that u can hit once in a life time, natural features that ull never get to see or hit in the park. that is CREATIVITY and thats why snowboarders are ahead of skiers

but these kids wont just ski bc, they will hit dope urban (which many older pros have stopped), also hit huge park jumps and session pipe. those are the best skiers, the ones who got it all.

let the hating begin....

p.s. there is also soft fluffy powder in the bc

Look at PNW trailer, I see J dorey has all bc shots, but wait he murders pipe, jumps, and rails. same goes for ager and leboe ect

I don't understand why anyone would hate the bc. Powder is so much more fun than park. I don't even understand why there is an argument about this.

THIS GOES FOR THE EAST COASTERS-- the only advice I have for you is move out of the east coast, and get some fluffy out in the west hahaha sry

that's cause doreys a pimp. and im sure there are plenty of rails in PNW, i know they hit up vancouver and even some seattle in those early season snow storms that hit the lowlands of the northwest (as seen on monday night football)

Pretty much the perfect example of a visual aide answering any and all questions on this subject: Charlie Ager switch 7.

what? i understood you're thread as the fucktarded opposite of this: that park skiers should stay in the park and there should be no effort to combine all aspects of skiing.

you read between nonexistant lines, i dont see those words anywhere. my thread was much more straightforward than you are giving it credit for.

I believe full time park skiers are really just bc-deprived skiers, and if you're not deprived and still in the park day in day out, someone needs to shoot you.

The chief has spoken.

i dont wanna hear "east coast kids cant ski BC" or "its not available to them". Ive had a good number of EC pow days and i can hold my own out west. i just have one word. Meatheads.....

but it is true, alot of park people have to get into the backcountry. But that goes for westerners mostly. i Have never seen park rats to the standards of Western park rats. They are actually "park rats". So many of the park skiers on the east go wild when we get a snowfall and would kill to shred pow under any circumstance, and when we get snow, the woods are ripped beyond belief. Ive been out west a few times during snowfalls, and ive seen kids just chill in the park. there is nothing, and i mean nothing, worst than that......

as much as i want to agree with you. that shit does not compare to out west. the very top of mansfield, tucks/washington, and very small portions of jays face compare to out west. out here there are just oo many fucking trees, and its not steep enough.

east coast pow is fun because you have to get creative and its rewarding, but gnar lines are made too gnar for comfort 90% of teh time due to trees

whats the diff?

ski, snowboard, park, powder, jumps, urban.

I think that if youre having fun and getting better it doesnt matter what happens or where you do it. I dont think snowboarding is ahead of anything. HOw do you get ahead? what makes that possible? someone answer that question.

I never said it was the same thing as out west. Its not nearly as good, but ripping trees makes you an extremely technical skier. Im just stating that we do have some pow skiing

well this is whats up, most kids can't ski, or don't have access to bc. You ride what you are given. All pros want to ride bc, and take their progression outside of the park, which is cool. But when it's like big mountain, or just pow skiing, that is not progression, its just skiing.

I mean seriously, imagine if all the pros had stayed in the park, it would have been sick. Things would have gotten so creative and individual expression would be huge. Think about it as rollerblading. They can't just go ride bc once they go pro, they are out there riding urban and sessioning stuff just like the regular kids.

I don't know about most of you, but big mountain segment in videos are boring. BC sessions are cool, but booters are just played. I wanna see more tree jibs, cliff stalls(like candide), switch riding, and progression in bc cause if this is "where the sport is going" then it better pick up the pace.

But many West Coast skiers have the opportunity to ski pow all winter

long. And to be honest, it's really nice to hit a nice man-made jump

after spending all day in the BC. I probably appreciate terrain parks

more than most skiers because my mountain hasn't had much of a park for the

past three seasons so almost all I ride is BC, but don't assume that simply because somebody spends

time in the park doesn't mean they haven't been killing it in the backcountry.

actually i think that east coast kids who dont ski park ALL THE TIME are better rounded skiers than west coast. think about it. i go out west once a year for a week on a ski trip((heavenly hopefully this year!!) and i can ski the pow pretty good, along with the people i go with. but you put a west coast kid on the ice we ski on and they are fucked...that is just my philosophy...

yeah your right. i skiied ice for 11 years and just started skiing park this year and the people i was staying with were supposed to be really good but they wouldnt even go to the chutes and stuff i did

for many people its not a matter of what they like, its a matter of where they live

i live in minnesota so i dont get to ski bc but when i go out west for a few days thats all i do and i wish i could ski bc more

you are so right, thats why I can't wait to get to Utah this year, A little piece of advice, if you don't think you can afford to move out west, just study hard and get a scholarship to a school out west, thats what I did and now I get to ski powder for the first time

haha, i love how all you eastcoast kids think it doesnt snow here... im pretty sure all the major resorts got dumped on like 5 times this winter. i dont know where you guys were but got tons of pow this season. i mean i guess if your 13 and live in pa or nj it might be hard to get to a decent mtn..

I live in western new york, and we really got dumped on twice this year, and by dumped on I mean I had first tracks and the snow was barely up to the top of my boot

These things you say are very true. Like I said like two days ago, there's pow on the east, you've just got to get to it.

I had more fresh pow days in the east then I did in the west. But you cant match the terrian in the west, it blows the east away.

Christ, at least for me, I would go for a pow day way more than just a day skiing the park and other shit! Well, on a day with good snow usually there is some pow too so I won't ski too much park, but my friends and I always build jumps over creeks and shit and find jumps. But, yeah, I prefer BC/pow skiing a lot more than park.

Rowen, I am sick of seeing your pompus ass "wish I was a moderator" opinions in every damn thred. Spriggs is right, so stop trying to please everyone douchebag.
