BC Hydro

SO a couple months ago I got a bill for 800$. I called bc hydro and they immediatly realized there was a problem, as I only live in a one bedroom condo, so they changed my bill from $800 to $190. That was for december and January, the coldest months of the year. So my next bill comes and its 400$. I'm thinking, how can the two coldest months of the year be 190$, and then when we're using less power in February jump up to 400$? So again I call BC hydro and they tell me that the 190$ bill was just an average of the last 10 years for my condo, and that my meter wasnt re-checked because its not cost effective. Then they tell me that there's nothing they can do about the 400$ bill because they never make meter reading mistakes twice in a row. What the hell is this? ... and I cant even change compaines because they have a monopoly. any one else have problems with this shitty company?

Beware the terrible ACL

Not about grahams situation, about the dumb and dumber quote.

Find other people in the building with same size condo and ask what their bill is like.

ya we're getting the "average over the past 10 years" bullshit too. we heat with wood and don't use much power at all and are getting hooped with the bill... but as you said, what can you really do, except bend over and take it like a bitch

you can not pay your bill like i did, then break the lease, move out, and let the landlord clean up the mess and hydro bill. i almost feel sorry for them...

i got a refund

i do the monthly equi-billing based on last years totals, where you pay last years totals divided by 12 (about $70 a month every month for the whole year) and it shows the amount youve paid as opposed to the energy you have used...we are looking at about a $180 refund

work to live...not live to work.

work to ski...but only if you ski to work. The simple equation to skibumming 101

...i didnt do it
