BBQ'd fish

so after reading the how to cook a steak thread sometime last week or so, and then another steak thread that just popped up, ive decided to make another food thread about something new my family tried tonight. bbq'd fish.

the fish used was haddock. its basically what my mom usually buys and i generally enjoy it. i live in albany ny, so i dunno it might be less/more expensive/accessible in other places, but prolly any fish would work. usually we just fry it, but tonight we just threw some salt n pepper n seasonings on it, threw it in the BBQ on a cedar cooking board and let it go on a nice slow cook setting. it tasted delicious. so much different than frying. so, next time you get some fish, try BBQ'ing it.

maybe most people do this and i am only just getting the memo, but who else likes BBQ'd fish much better than fried?

I like fish cooked almost any way, even raw fish is dope. Try out BBQ salmon next time, it's good too.

ah i bet both are good on the grill. haddock is just what we usualyl fry so, ill grab somthin else next time.

we only grill fish, trout, salmon, striper, cod, shrimp, anything, the best is grilled pizza though, you just make a pizza and throw it right on the grill, no boards or anything and it's delicious

Grilling fish is definitely my favorite way to cook it. I usually make a little tray out of tin foil and then put seasoning and some thin slices of butter on top. As it cooks the butter melts into the fish and its awesome. Ive only done this with salmon though so it may be different with a different kind of fish.

listen to him!

my father regularly go to vancouver for his job (he works in paper mills) and he buys salmon from the indians there and it is the most delicious thing ive ever eaten

grilled fish is great, but i personally prefer fried better. dougs fish fry in skaneatles in NY, is orgasmic

Dude you gotta throw that shit straight on the grill. No boards or anything. It makes it taste so nice. Next time pick up some salmon fillets. Put lemon juice on them so they are wet all over, then throw some brown sugar, cumin, and a little cinnamon in a bowl. Mix it up. Then rub it on the fillets. Makes them taste sooo good. Then grill those babies up.

one reason i made this thread was to get some good replies like ^ that one. theres a thread on diff ways to cook steak, now heres one for fish.

definitely
what i do sometimes is take a bunch of shrimp and throw them in a bowl with an asian sesame type marinade and let them sit for about an hour and then throw them in a grill basket and put them on the grill untill they're cooked but not shrively, if you wait too long they become dry, so you cook them right and then they turn out unbelievably, put them in some pasta with a peanut type sauce and you have yourself a sick dinner
i also just take my trout and put some rosemary and lemon slices in the middle and close it up and grill it up and then just cut the fillets out from inside, you get a really good flavor and it's way better than filleting the trout before you cook it

we grill fish like once a week. fresh salmon that my dad catches and halibut.

marinate halibut in teriyaki and throw it on the grill=amazing.

I made some seared ahi today with a pepper/lavender rub. Just rub that shit all over the ahi (tuna) steaks throw it on a super hot grill for 3 minutes on each side. Slice it up thin, serve it with a little soy sauce and wasabi.

When i was in england we paddled out in our 2 man kayak, threw a line of the back and caught 11 pollock and 9 haddock, gutted them then paddled to the beach and stuck em on the BBQ, Tasted delish.

sear some tuna

cut it into 2 inch-square chunks and marinate in salsa(or whatever)

thenput a skewer through it

seperate the tuna chunks with onion, bell pepper, or pine apple(my favorite)

throw it on the grill untill the outside is blackened and the inside is to your preference

yeah it is, i like it almost as much as bbq ribs. fish is super easy to make too, which is a bonus, and it goes well with almost anything. its good poor people food, trust me.
