so my laptop just died last night, its weird sometimes it said there was no battery left when it was plugged in so i had to unplug it and plug it back in, finally last night i tried to do that so many times and it didin't work.

now its just dead and i dont know what to do, i have all my school stuff thats due this week there and i need it for school basically i use it all day.

has this happened to anyone before? is there something i can do? thanks ns

did you two retards read the thread? she said it died while it was plugged in.

this hapened to me about a month ago. i have an HP laptop, the shit just up and died. had to send it into hp, got it back in like 2 weeks and it worked fine. unfortunately that doesn't really work for you since you need your school stuff. i would maybe try a different ac adapter, yours may have stopped working, i've gone through 2 ac adapters for some reason, but if you know someone with the same laptop try their charger and maybe you'll have some luck.

Have you tried taking out your battery and then plugging it in (without the battery in)?

Try it.

You might've surged it, if that's the case, your fucked unless you have an external hd enclosure for laptop hd's so you can get your schoolwork off of it.

it's a dell, windows xp, and i had 2 people help me find the battery and it seems like it could pop out but it doesn't, the laptop is probably about 2 years old, maybe it is the charger.

but could it possibly be a virus? I need to have it fixed today since i have 3 huge papers due tomorrow! this is probably the worse thing that could happen to me right now.

Your AC adapter is dead, it is usually because of the connection to your computer. You may need a new one unless you are good at sadering. You can get multi purpose ac adapters in a local electronics shop.

There's probably a black slider thing on the bottom of your laptop which releases the battery, but you might want another person to help because it's hard to keep the switch slid all the way over and remove the battery.
