im sick of the bashing of the new school from other (older) people if it wasnt for new school skiing would be dead i hate it when people bash evolution...evolution is the key to progress im sick of all these people saying the new school ha no talent and that the young are just unskilled and have guts and no talent well i for one will not take it i believe new school is the skiing future all that are with me just let me know :-)

I see what you're saying, but I think that old school is cool too, just in a different way. It's important to know how to ski outside the park, and thats what a lot of the old guys dont see from the park kids

fuck em'.... i like the fact that lots of people arn't down with us. I like the fact that newschooling isn't huge.. it makes it more unique i feel. One may not share my feeling but i don't care. I see newschoolers as ones who don't follow the crowd... when all of our friends switched to snurfing we believed in the evolution that would take hold to skiing.

yeah, i work at a ski/bike store and i fuckin hate how all the othe guys (who are cross-country bikers) have no respect for me what-so ever.

in the winter, they have no respect for me because i ski on twin tips and stay in the park all day. i had respect for them no matter what type of skiing/biking they did, but they dont give me any.

if you do stay in the park all day you basically arent skiing though. going straight down to the jumps, then going straight to the next one isnt really skiing in my book, its just using skis to get speed

There is one park at my local mountain where the chairlift looms over and to the side of the park, but in full view of the park. Almost all the people, including older people compliment when the skiers and snowboarders do cool tricks in the park. I don't see much bashing at all. Could just be the mountain I ski at but I don't know.

as if anyone goes in the park on powder days, if its a sunny sunday and its all tracked out there is nothing better than hiking a rail or something. i think respect is growing. most boarders have respect. i still hear way mnoreboarder bashing than ns bashing, we have it easy.

man the people that put shit down are the people you dont talk to, just let them have there own little thoughts, just do wut u find fun, ski to the weather like that other dude said, on pow days ski pow and on park days ski park, simple as that.

 
^ this guy is correct. I agree, being form the midwest i ski the park all the time. But when i go out west I ski the bowls and backcontry cuz i never have the oppurtunity.

but this difference between snowboarding and skiing is that snowboarding started like it is now...boarding started out as a bunch of badass kids sliding down their hill with strange skateboard type things on their feet unlike skiing were it started out as an easy transportation device for folks who lived in deep snow country
